It really doesn't. There's not even anything significant to explain about it. It's purely a plot device for how multiple versions of the villain exist at once.. There's no butterfly effect or multiverse shenanigans going on.

That's actually weird. Why un-localize Aeris to Aerith but not un-localize Cait Sith pronunciation when that's arguably a bigger error?

Aeris/Aerith was never a matter of localization. It was a misspelling.

They most likely just don't care when it comes to Cait Sith's pronunciation, and are going with what they already had.

Which is a bad argument because there are plenty of modern jrpgs with silly character designs. Final Fantasy is not the only jrpg series out there.

Furthermore, jrpgs where the characters are just normal people aren't anything new either. Nor is there anything wrong with that. Calling characters generic for looking like people is silly imo.

Even if the part about modern jrpgs not having non-human characters was true (it isn't), when where non-human characters the thing that made jrpgs great?

Like, it can be an interesting aspect I guess, but I highly doubt anybody got into the genre specifically for that reason.

I think thats balanced out by the Time Machine being the only reason Cell existed, and it was an alternate timeline version of Bulma who did that anyway.

That doesn't balance things at all, though. Everyone survived in the timeline with Cell (even Goku could've had he wanted to).

I remember trying Evony: The King's Return. In it's ads it looks like a simple puzzle game, where you guide an adventurer around obstacles to obtain treasure. Even in the pictures on the Playstore, that's all it shows.

In the actual game, that's just a minor minigame with a few resources as rewards, and the actual game is one of those Clash of Clans-style base-building idle games.

Jokes on them. I was disappointed in me first.

It wouldn't be that much of a stretch. One of the early concepts for FF7 had them as former lovers (another had them as siblings). Just knowing that would definitely lead to some fanfiction on the pairing.
