The high critic reviews legit feel like a troll attempt, but I didnt get mad until I saw that audience score was also ridiculously high wtf audience I trusted you, there's no way anyone could have liked this ridiculously vapid and empty movie thats trying so hard to seem profound. Wow the mean guy ended up getting killed by the very boy he was being nice to, what a shocking twist, so much film analysis.

At one point, a bit out of nowhere, there was about a
1 minute completely pointless scene of a close-up of horses accompanied by "strange eerie music"

Wow much pretentious, very groundbreaking cinema. I saw this moment and I almost cracked up laughing, someone needs to take these guys whoever did it down a peg or two because they're too far shoved up their own ass smelling their own pretentious farts I swear

With star power like Benedict Cumberpatch, kirsten Dunst, and the psycho from breaking bad except he got kinda fat a little bit.

This movie is aggravating as hell and I didn't like it. Its set in the 50s and goes on forever with Denzel talking in the folksy 60s era way of talking and its super annoying.

Denzel plays a guy who cheated on his wife and is somewhat abusive to his son(s), culminating in being straight up physically abusive in a drunken stupor. And we're supposed to feel sympathy for him or something I dunno.

I thought her voice was kinda grating, and a little, what's the word, gravelly? I dont know why people say they like her music. Personally I like more feminine sounding soft music when it comes to girl singers, or on the flipside opera style singers (as in "when the fat lady sings" type stuff) and lizzo is neither. I finally heard a song from her on the radio the other day that I did like, it was okay, but not "she's an international super star sensation millionaire overnight" quality singer.

What is the point of any movie? They all have a story to tell, it's just that in this particular case it doesn't seem like the movie is about anything. It has some themes of "oh women aren't respected in their profession and men mistreat them" and also "being guarded and wary of getting close to someone" but the movie doesn't really have anything to say about it and the movie just... ends. No real arc or resolution or anything.

Which is weird because Saoirse herself is near 30

Chiwetel Ejiofor plays the dad, but the son really shines as William Kamkwamba

Its about a boy in malawi living with his parents in an impoverished village facing a drought and unable to farm or have any kind of food or any support from the government. The boy is incredibly smart but his parents can't even pay for him to go to school, so he makes do with learning from books that he sneaks into the library to read.

Ultimately he discovers a way to use a makeshift windmill to bring water to the village. Its inspiring and based on a true story to boot

Part of me knew they could never live up to the s2 finale, the logistics of it didn't make any sense and while I did find it mildly amusing that they subverted the explanation by doing jokes, it was an indication of things to come in terms of writing caliber. The Mary Watson thing being the biggest result of ridiculousness

It would be funny if they tied this to Shirley Holmes which I grew up with and liked. Or even BBC's Sherlock deranged sister who's revealed in the final episode

I actually made it over an hour into the movie before being overwhelmed by the cringe so... somewhat of an improvement over the first movie.

Its actually fine if you go in knowing its meant to be a fanfic of Sherlock Holmes for tween girls. Like Nancy drew in 19th century only less good.

I thought Fox Catcher, Straight Outta Compton, and Stan & Ollie were good movies.

Fox catcher is really highly rated by critics but much lower by audience, is it any good?

Straight outta Compton was great, I enjoyed that a lot. Still can't get over how crazy good the guy who portrayed ice cube was, looked exactly like him

I saw that movie in theaters. I really liked it. Paul Dano, Paul Giamatti, all great performances.
