I did some actual research this time, and yes the other mode is called "Custom Game", and its where you form a party with friends. So yes that does make more sense and would mean the mafia team doesnt all have to start as killers.

Which on the other hand, yeah if you were mafia and all started as killers, why would you admit that.

I hate to be Mr. Flavor Police but....going by DBD rules, if the town team queued up as Survivors, it only makes sense that the mafia team queued up as killers, and the teams swap sides each round.

Ulti had the predator trait and this was a motion detector role. Is there truly this much overlap between our trait names?

Whats "basically the same" as quiet mean/ is it the same?

I can understand wanting to see if him loving on borrowed time resolves itself. But unless we're following Corrik's lead to resolve the D1 lynch, I'm a little directionless. I'd like to push Crescent/Chang, but I'll give Chang a chance to actually catch up and post notes.

Chang when you catch up, I don't really care about you trying to defend whatever Crescent did. I'd be more interested in your thoughts on other players not super talked about already like Death or Wallz at end of day. I guess also Lea/BCT is a more relevant one that I'd like your read of.

I feel the directionlessness. I thought Crescent was pretty safely town yesterday. I dont even think it makes sense for her to make the posts he made about traits as scum. I also kind of have Ashe, Wallz, and Death in my POE of people i have the least thoughts on. I dont fully trust Corrik is town even though i agree with all of his logic and actions so far. Ashe is a good person to go after and i agree they should claim.

I think FD is probably just town now based on responses today. Very adamant that killing Ulti yesterday was the right move - and not in a way that is focused on trying to convince us, but more like reiterating to himself that he played it right.

Also being more active and engaged than he needs to be if scum, especially placing himself in a town leadership position yesterday and standing by that those were his intentions.

And if you throw in the possibly poisoned thing, then yeah i really dont want to touch him today.

I thought a little about the Chain Hunt thing, and looked up the Dead By Daylight wiki to see if I could find anything.

I kind of doubt there's some kind of hidden action that we need to do, like other people have tried. But might as well throw one out there myself!

I think the more likely criteria we have to meet probably has to do with voting. Maybe once over half of town has voted, even with the voting restriction, we will solve the chain hunt. Or maybe it's something crazier like having multiple votes on the same person, or spreading votes out. Anything like that to solve the puzzle. But I can't make any good enough assumptions off the flavor to make any suggestions. Just that I think it might naturally resolve once we start voting if we're lucky.

In all seriousness, I think opening post said we were going to get details on how to resolve the chain hunt later on in the day. I assume some kind of mini game opens up after the first 24 hours.

First, something happened to me last night. I mean in addition to switching from one solo queue role to another, that happened as well.

I received a message telling me... something. There's a couple different ways to interpret it. It's possible its erroneous flavor related to my second solo queue persona, or it's possible its an indication that I'm loving on borrowed time.

When did you receive the message? Because your second persona does not come into effect until the start of day 2

Well, interesting. FF14 mafia had a TOWN Ninja, which did nothing on its own. But mafia had a role that could steal the power of a dead townie each night, and that was its function to give mafia a potential ninja ability.

Could also be a sort of Miller trait in this game if there's a rolecop

My new rebuttal is that throughout the day there were many points that I read Ulti town and I voiced a lot of them, so if you find you agree with them then you'll understand exactly why I thought Ulti was town

I think it was this one I didnt like, just because of the last comment that pushes a belief that Ulti and Wallz are scum/scum when I didnt feel like the day was going a clear "scum is on the back foot" direction at all. And I especially didnt think Wallz did anything so clearly egregious to have someone be that certain about him. It just feels like a comment directed at manipulating town.

I haven't loved everything about Sultan but I'd honestly prefer to keep the list of possible options smaller to force people to decide from a short list. Ulti vs Wallz was my preference but evidently Lea would not be denied a spot in the conversation and Team Ulti is making a strong push for Ashe.

This post makes me feel good about Ben. Ulti flipped TOWN CAT so Ben defending him early in such a way - and not voting for Ulti later - makes me lean town on him.... at least at first. His reactions thereafter, however... I dunno. The good feelings disappeared until 1.348 when he called out Sultan for changing his mind on SBell for no discernible reason. And that may be because Sultan is failing all kinds of vibe checks, at least in topic 1.

The people I like the least are Sultan, Ben, and Dumey. Again, this is just based on the first topic.

I also have no clue if this is a Mafia game or not. Too much going on and I'm just gonna ignore it all and try to find scum.

This is gonna be tough to describe why I like this post but.... I like the thoughts progression and the eventual conclusion to leave me on a list of people BCT likes the least. You'll notice he only gave details on two things he DID LIKE about me, had a vague "Didn't like those reactions", and concluded I was shady because of those posts "until 1.248" that he left unexplained. Your first impression might be to think that this is scum being contradictory, but no I am reading it as town who felt genuinely disturbed by things I was saying and lists me as someone he doesnt have good feelings about because he really FELT it, not because he was able to prove it in this post by pointing to what he didnt like about me.

Someone summarize the last 16 hours of day 1.

Ulti made some mistakes that generated aggro because "his actions didnt make any sense". I thought Ulti was super giga town the whole last 16 hours and tried to convince as many people as i could, but I was the only one who thought that way as far as I can tell. Hard to say who was being dense or killing Ulti because they just...dont like Ulti, and who was mafia being intentionally dense because Ulti is an easy mislynch. I should probably go re-read the last 16 hours and try to figure that out.

Ashethan was second in votes for being generally inactive compared to others.

Meanwhile, Lea's slot got some attention. Not because she posted it on discord, but because she at one point told Ulti he was a vanilla, which made Ulti and some other people think she had a day role scan on Ulti. She clarified later that no, she was able to guess Ulti was vanilla because of what information he implied by his posts. I agree that it was obvious Ulti was Vanilla before Lea said it, but many people thought that they were both mafia, and she was third in votes. I think she could still be mafia but not because of the Ulti vanilla thing

And yeah I agree this game is awesome. The split roles thing has also been done exactly like this in Han's Star Wars/Pokemon mafia. There was no warning for it in that game either and the game was universally praised. So I have to disagree that the host made a mistake in not telling us

I do not know the full extent of what this means. I asked for additional clarification if this means they know my flavor, my role, my traits, my second role and traits? I was told that question couldn't be answered. What I have is in my PM.

But since mafia now have may or may not know everything about me, I'm inclined to want to let town know as much as they do.

trying real hard not to let my confirmation bias win but it has been very strange that ulti generally responds to suspicions against him, yet on 3 occasions i have made specific comments about his behavior and they have gone completely ignored. no witty reply, no explanation, no acknowledgement. he has responded to me at times, but i feel like the specific posts he has avoided are the ones where i actually highlighted valid points against him.

This question has been asked, and ignored, many many times. He doesn't have an answer and is hoping to bury it.

I do think Lea can be mafia independent of Ulti. She just sussed out his role since he said he had no abilities. Mafia teams are always trying to figure out roles based on information like that. "Vanilla" was a messy answer, yes.
