I never played this game.

I just really like it because Dangerouslyfunny played it a lot.

I need to actually load it up and try it. I liked Undermine after all.

DF actually can advertise some decent games when he is not doing the mobile ones or the leaf blower thing.

Determining the outside circumstances is priority one.

Putting aside other things, there are MANY problems that will happen to stop our digital existence, even if all outside humans are now automatons that act the same OR differently.

Identifying the current existence and its outside are imperative.

Once answers come in, I and anyone with me, if I am still surviving, must pursue the status of both the planet, and the system we are now of.

We will protect both, as even such technology must have a survivable outside system.

Next chapter, now as an anime: That time I became a slime AND The Matrix and decided to save the planet even though the system didn't need it. Also, squirrels forever.

TopicEver heard of a Type IV and V civilization?
Sephiroth_C_Ryu

Once you get beyond galactic, it can break down in a few different paths.

For instance, the Blokkats from the Stellaris Gigastructural mod I would say are at least type 4 even in the state they are in the game (they go around harvesting galaxies and are a post-endgame-crisis). While they don't own the entire universe, their existence goes beyond the normal dimensions.

By the classical scale, they are still a rank 3 trying to become rank 4.

Some settings can also get weird, to where the region they actually control is not a good representation of actual power. This is usually because there are supernatural abilities in play as well. Like, Tenchi Muyo's setting or TTGL for instance. In the former, no one civilization controls even an entire galaxy, and even the Galaxy Police are more of an armed delivery company that protects its trade lanes with warships, but there is also Jurai stuff that regularly says "no, your physics don't matter. I will reach into a black hole and pull something back out of it and you can just stand there and gawk." Not to mention the whole plan by certain goddesses to create a new, more powerful god.

TTGL, things just spiral out of control at extreme. Whatever things were like before the anti-spiral made their decision was at least a tier 3. Most of the story of the anime is fought at near tier 1 though, even though the anti-spiral is effectively a tier 3 in self-imposed stasis. And while the big final fight where galaxies are getting thrown around takes place in a separate dimension (probably at least in part to do away with the annoyingly slow speed of light in normal space), those galaxies are still the size, if not bigger, than the normal dimension's galaxies. The movie version of the fight with its even more insane stuff suggests the fight may cap out at lower tier 4 levels of energy.

So yeah, the tier system is a bit weird after a certain point, and a T4 from one setting could potentially very well be curbstomped by a T2 from a different setting when it comes to fictional stuff.

TopicWhat is more interesting to you: The Marvel Universe or the Dragon Ball Universe
Sephiroth_C_Ryu
11/15/23 7:50:52 PM
#9
DBZ, ironically, because it isn't full of a bazillion different bloats, and the locations it does have tend to be .

Marvel is a good, but very convoluted setting to the extent that there is just too MUCH to the point where every new alien planet or magical realm is just a different colored generic like the rest.

I won't say that Dragon Ball had any particularly noteworthy variety outside of the Earth or anything (though Namek specifically is surprisingly unique in overall appearance as far as alien planets go).

Part of it may be that I just hate humanity in the Marvel Universe because they are too much like the real ones. i.e. if spiderman were real, everyone would hate him because Fox News would constantly trash on him just like the angry conservative station in the Marvel Universe hates him. Oh, and lets not even get started on anti-mutant supporters. Most marvel heroes that actually have to live on the Earth seem to have... a rather bad existence where most people hate/fear them. Even if its actually accurate and at times justified, it just wears you down after a while.

Sephiroth_C_Ryu
11/12/23 6:32:21 AM

People worshiped a golden calf once despite being told by far better and more living prophets to not worship random golden things some guy forged all their jewelry into. Said better prophets, if we believe this story, were even so disgusted that they ranted a bit while also throwing some stone slabs with laws onto the ground, breaking them, and then having to climb to the top of a mountain all over again to get/make a new pair of stone slabs.

And according to the text that this is from, these ignorants did so despite literally seeing said better prophet part a freaking sea with the power of God.

So yeah. The way to make sense of this is to say that humanity is incredibly stupid, even IF the text in question were infalable .

Not that people actually read the thing.

Incidentally, a bunch of old users got their karma because they actually did post on the boards for specific games back in the day, since faqs don't answer every question. Also you apparently don't need to post every day to get karma.

The slight remainder is NCD fellows, who are mostly fawning over the new stealth bomber at the moment and trying to invent some way to sexualize it.

Instances of bad food quality do seem to be increasing at a worrying rate. Which itself suggests other issues, as bad things tend to surface when logistics start to get squeezed.

So now I just use a phone as mostly a phone and text device, and use a more easily moddable device as my system for actually doing non-phone things.

I can't trust systems I can't manipulate, so why bother going through all the weird hoops to crack them, when I can just crack my computer instead.
