Even if it is an unusual situation with how long they were running for, EVO has been going for a long time and to my knowledge, this has not happened in the past. You shouldn't be in danger of ruining your controller just for a long gaming session.

Several participants at EVO complained over the weekend about how the tournament's PS5s got so hot that when they removed their controllers/fight sticks, melted pieces of the PS5s port glued themselves to the controller's plug.

The PS5 has a history of bizarre problems that other consoles don't seem to suffer from, including randomly deleting user save data, randomly uninstalling games, corrupting its own harddrive when entering rest mode, and overheating during cutscenes and shutting down. Now we add "melting usb ports" to the list.

Yeah China was really shitty about it, but so were Americans. There was A LOT of vitriol online about Finn. It was so bad that JJ Abhrams and Chris Terrio basically wrote him out of Rise of Skywalker to appease all the whiny racist fans. He does nothing whatsoever in that whole movie except for hook up with a black lady (who they just HAD to make related to Lando) so fans can be reassured that he's staying with his own and no longer after Rey, the local white woman.

John Boyega is even pretty open about the racism he experienced while working on Star Wars. So idk where you're getting this idea that new minority characters don't catch flak because they absolutely do.

People were really getting their panties in a twist over Finn in Force Awakens before the movie even came out. It looked like he was going to be the star at the time and a lotta internet people did not want a black main character.

The one thing that hasn't changed about Capcom is that they still design interesting villians (G-Birkin, Marguerite, Lady Dimitrescu) and interesting fighting game characters (Falke, Kolin, Menat).

I don't know who those villains are except for Dimitrescu because the whole internet got horny for her. It doesn't matter to me if RE has good villains since I don't like that series anyway and there are 4 RE games to any non-RE/MH franchise.

As for fighting games, SF5 was not good. Falke may have been different, but she was like bottom tier. And for every character like Menat who did something interesting, there was a generic rushdown like Ed and several other characters who barely worked like Nash/FANG/Necali, etc. (Idk if that held true by the end of that game's life cycle. I dropped out of it early on since it was so bad and only popped back in briefly to try some later characters my friend bought). They had no idea what they wanted that game to be and it showed. I've got no interest in SF6 after that and it's ugly as sin anyway. RE7 engine characters live at the bottom of the uncanny valley and I can't look at em for long. Luke and DJ especially give me the creeps.

Capcom only makes Resident Evil and Monster Hunter anymore and I don't care about those IPs at all. Once in a while, they'll crap out a mediocre modern iteration of one of their other IPs, a little DMC 5 or Megaman 11, but then it's right back to spamming RE and MH.

They used to be one of the best innovators in the industry. They used to have a wide variety of games across all genres and they were making new IPs pretty regularly. They've stagnated so drastically over the past 15 years or so that they're unrecognizable from the Capcom of the 90s-00s.

It would have had 0 weaknesses in gen 1 because the only dragon move was fixed damage and dragon cancels out water's grass and electric weaknesses while water cancels dragon's ice weakness. Nothing else was like that.

The vast majority of status effects in D&D 5e are just advantage/disadvantage. Nearly every spell that does something besides damage just gives the target advantage (roll twice, take better result) or disadvantage (roll twice, take worse result). Like "poisoned" and "blinded" statuses are the same thing. They both give the target disadvantage. 5e has less mechanical depth than gen 1 pokemon.

I heard that Baldur's Gate 3 was based on D&D 5e. Is that not the case? I just can't imagine playing an entire video game like that.

I'm kinda interested in it, but knowing it's 5e-based is a massive turn off. Like, what depth can it even have if it uses the 5e rules? That game doesn't have any character customization beyond "pick your class" and if you're a caster "pick from this very short list of spells."

Do they add stuff to it for the video game version? I just can't see it being any fun otherwise. I mean 5e doesn't even have status effects beyond advantage/disadvantage.

There is no path forward for the supreme court as a legitimate body of government. Any pretense of legitimacy was erased back when Republicans prevented Obama from appointing a justice.

Since then, several of the judges have lied under oath and one of them is openly taking bribes. Several of them are also openly legislating based on their religious beliefs, but that's not even new. Scalia did that too. The supreme court has been a sham for my entire life.

Packing the court wouldn't make it any less legitimate. It would create an arms race for both parties to keep adding people whenever they're in power until the court becomes basically just another congress, but I don't really see how that's any worse than the current situation.

Biden's just a naive douchebag who doesn't actually have any values. He's a blind traditionalist who thinks it's still 1970 and he can still pal around with his segregationist buddies and compromise on human rights to get legislation passed to put more "super predator" black guys in jail for the same crimes his idiot son films himself committing.

I've never even seen the concept art in question, but I have seen the actual gameplay plenty of times and I know it's overflowing with T&A, so it just seems pointless to try and make the concept art that not everyone's even gonna look at "more tasteful" when the grappler character is still gonna turn completely upside down to show off her crotch every time she does a command grab.

It's like putting a bandaid over a bullet wound.

Rogue One was, and remains, one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life and after that, I wasn't about to trust another Star Wars spinoff telling yet another story that doesn't really matter. Rise of Skywalker ended up being even worse though. Go figure. I gave up on Star Wars altogether after that one.

Saw Solo a few years after the fact because my friend owned a blu ray of it and said it was good. It was decent. Not super impactful or memorable, but it's competently made, unlike the other Disney Star Wars movies. Honestly, it's probably the best of those, which isn't saying much, but still.
