I'd hesitate to even call it a forum lol. But it is pretty insane how such a large userbase ended up being the trade-off for all of Reddit's myriad flaws.

They're very clearly banking on the same thing Twitter did - participants would be too addicted to the feedback loop of algorithmically driven content to abandon the platform. (Something Reddit's predecessor pulled the cord on far too early.) I hate that they'll probably end up succeeding on their gamble the same way that Twitter has.
