JC Penney tried that once. They marked all their prices down at least 40% and stopped using odd pricing (i.e., something that would originally have been $99.99 would instead be priced at no more than $60).

It failed spectacularly. The CEO that implemented the plan eventually had his salary cut by 96% before being fired a little while later. JC Penney then ran a commercial apologizing for, I guess, not fooling their customer base, and basically begging them to come back.

If you had to suggest one of those songs as a must-listen, which would it be?
I'm going to be accommodating, and say it depends what you want to listen to.

If you're not into Japanese rock of any kind, safely ignore the first 6. The last one is a metal cover of a song from Legend of the Mystical Ninja 64, so if you're not into that, ignore it.

If you want some goofy-ass power metal, go with Victorious. (I'd also suggest a couple other songs by them, namely "Astral Assassin Shark Attack" and "Cosmic Space Commando Base", both from their album "Space Ninjas From Hell")

If you're OK with Japanese rock, then I'm obligated to suggest Gacharic Spin, but mostly because they're my favorite band right now. It's difficult to peg them down in one genre, but this particular song is hyper-energetic rock with a funky-ass bassline.

TRiDENT is more hard rock, and Kickass is pretty standard for what they do: ridiculously good rhythm section with amazing vocals.

Market Shop Store and Gordon skew a little towards prog rock, but I wouldn't really say they're fully prog.

The particular Kikiaiai song I picked is less rock. They've only got three members: the keyboardist/vocalist, the bassist/thereminist, and the drummer. I might actually say this song is lounge jazz, but that doesn't really describe it as well as I'd like.

Pick your poison.

HANABIE. describe themselves as Harajukucore. They're a metalcore band.

Literally being incorrectly used as figuratively triggers me
No one uses 'literally' to mean 'figuratively'. People do use a hyperbolic form of 'literally' as an intensifier, but it doesn't mean 'figuratively'. As it is almost always flagrantly obvious when someone is using hyperbolic 'literally', it can exist perfectly well alongside literal 'literally'.

Now, the one thing about the English language that I do take issue with is the use of 'candelabras'. That's a plural of a plural, and it's literally wrong.

Neither of these should be considered for the actual reparations.
They absolutely should. Damages (especially punitive damages) awarded in court should be proportional to the income of the losing party, because it's supposed to encourage them to not do it again. Especially in the case of punitive damages, it's supposed to be an actual punishment.

If someone can get off of committing a tort (or crime) with what is essentially a fiduciary slap on the wrist, they're just going to keep doing it, because it costs them basically nothing.

Even though I had a crap ton of Lego, I recall having a lot more fun with Construx and Robotix.

Hell, even though the brand changed hands a few times, you could still buy all the old Robotix sets until the most recent company to sell the brand had to halt production due to COVID-19 in 2021. Part of me wishes I'd had the space and money to pick up a couple of them while I still had the chance.

yesterday, they also killed embeds and viewing any twitter content while not logged in
That second bit is probably what broke Twitter. Apparently, since that boneheaded decision, Twitter has been effectively DDOSing itself.

I'd post a link to where I saw this, but it was on Twitter, so, you know...
