It's a great game and a fine second act to BotW, but I think it's time to move on from it as it's run its course.

What's a shame is that BotW/TotK are now the highest selling Zelda games by a country mile so I think we can expect to see the next game be just like them.

Not sure how old TC is (is this topic from 1999?) but the N64 was not a great time for Nintendo period. Due to their idiocy with cartridges/being hostile towards developers, many companies jumped ship to Sony for this generation, most notable SquareSoft and Enix.

There's barely any RPGs on the N64 (or honestly third party games in general) due to this.

Honestly I think yes. I hear a lot more cursing among super young kids than I ever did in the 90s. Not to mention that adults seem to no longer care about what vile content they expose surrounding kids to since smartphones are a thing now. It's a top-down problem.

Tobey's voice has changed substantially since SM3 though. It was kind of strange in No Way Home to the point of taking me out of the movie. He's aged so much.

I enjoyed parts of the 2000s for sure (the internet of that time was wild and fun), but like all nostalgia, often what you remember is better than the actual experience.

Absolute fad. The Wii's first two or three years were the success years, fueled by existing in an era where smartphones hadn't yet become huge. Once phones became more advanced and motion tech became more of a commodity, the Wii was shot dead, and that moment arrived pretty fast.

For those who stuck around with the Wii in the decline years (2009-2011, roughly), it was clear that nearly everyone had moved on from the system and even Nintendo seemed disinterested in releasing any quality titles for it. Skyward Sword kept getting delayed and when it released, it felt so clunky and half-baked (no wonder it sold like trash). There was clamor for a "Wii HD" for many years, and Nintendo was far too slow to appease the market, which led to the complete lolcow failure of the Wii U.

I also had this thought. So many of these characters haven't actually been on the air or in the spotlight for 20+ years. It's actually kind of insane that this is getting a sequel let alone had a first installment in the first place. Most kids today don't know at least 85% of these characters unless they are deep into video piracy or watch them on Paramount+ somehow.

Suffered through 3 episodes of this trash show and had enough. How this was greenlit I'll never know. Absolutely nothing of substance happens.

Despite Ages having better dungeons and being "harder" I still gravitate towards Seasons more. Yeah I agree, the items were much better and had more fun mobility options compared to Ages.

If you were a certain age (most of us here I gather), there is a significant nostalgia factor to the N64, but the console itself is really honestly trash, a casualty of companies not knowing what they were doing in the 3D era + the tech for home consoles not yet being there. Quite a few games from that time also don't play well unless you had them as a kid and knew how to work their quirks.

I have a drawer full of them. I only use them for TOTK now.

I run a pihole at home and have an always-on VPN connected to it so stuff is just blocked that way (across the entire OS, not just the browser)
