Think about it. How many Florida cities do you think of before Jacksonville? Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Tallahassee, Ft. Lauderdale, more? Hell, if you werent an NFL fan, you probably wouldnt even know about Jacksonville, and its the largest city in Florida.

How many other states largest cities are that forgettable?
TBF calling Jacksonville "Florida's largest city" requires a huge asterisk.

Jacksonville only has that title because for whatever reason the defined boundaries of the city proper for Jacksonville are absurdly large. A massive 747 square miles, the 6th largest in the US (the other 5 are Anchorage and some bit towns where their entire county is counted as "city").

Miami, for comparison, is only 56 square miles and pretty much only consists of the downtown core and everything else that people (especially people not from the area) would generally call "Miami" are actually separate cities like Miami Beach or Hialeah.

If you go by metro area Miami, Tampa and Orlando all dwarf Jacksonville and it's not even close.

I mean, let's take a look at the overall plot of Dragon Ball Z.

  • An alien super warrior arrives from outer space and reveals himself to be the brother of our main character. Shortly after two more alien super warriors arrive from outer space. Most of our heroes are killed in the ensuing battle.
  • Our remaining heroes then must travel through space to an alien planet in order to revive the defeated heroes. There they become stranded as the planet is under siege by an evil galactic space emperor. Our heroes eventualy defeat the space emperor and bring back the others.
  • The evil space emperor however is not dead and, alongside his father, comes to Earth to extract revenge. However he is defeated by a time traveller from the future (who is also the son of two of our heroes, unbeknownst to them). The time traveller reveals that the future was destroyed by two Androids who defeated all of our heroes and our current timeline heroes must train and prepare for their arrival.
  • During the battles with the Androids another arrives from the future, this one a biocreature formed from the amalgamation of our heroes DNA. Our heroes eventually defeat the creature with the help of another Android as well as a chamber where time moves at 1/356 of real world time allowing for extensive training time.
  • Fast forward seven years and our heroes encounter a new threat where an evil magician turns one of our heroes against the others in order to gather enough energy to revive an ancient creature to wreck havoc on the universe.
  • The creature uses absorption techniques to shapeshift and steal our heroes abilities. Eventually the creature completely destroys Earth and kills most of our heroes. The remaining heroes eventually defeat said creature while fighting him on an alien planet inhabited by the gods of our quadrant of the universe.
I don't know, most of that sure sounds like "creepy sci fi shit" to me.

I'd say the answer is someone who was a one-term president, who didn't inherit the office from a dead predecessor (as those who did are a common trivia tidbit), and is generally ranked in the middle of the pack in historical rankings of presidents because they were unremarkable enough that they can't be labelled as good or bad. They also shouldn't have any major well-known landmarks named after them (like Herbert Hoover and the Hoover Dam). And also they probably shouldn't be a major plot point in a huge Hollywood blockbuster (so Chester A. Arthur thanks to Die Hard with a Vengeance).

So someone like...say...Rutherford B. Hayes.

Everything about it was inferior to the first three except the streamlined travel system (no repeatedly running through the subway or, worse, 3's airport). It just wasn't fun at all. And when I found out the post game required just playing through the story 2 more times, I quit there and moved on to 5.

The original DB is a fun series that's really easy to watch.

DBZ is obviously it's most well known and iconic iteration, although objectively I do think a degree of nostalgia is required to enjoy a lot of it, especially the Buu Saga.

Honestly I thought GT was okay for the first arc when it was kind of paying homage to the original, a light-hearted journey through the galaxy for the Dragonballs, but the rest was beyond awful. As soon as you see Baby, get the fuck out of there.

Super had it's moments, frankly I enjoyed the Goku Black and Tournament of Power arcs for what they were, but it pales in comparison to DB and DBZ. Maybe it's just because it doesn't have the nostalgia factor.

The movies are dumb non-canon affairs until the Super movies which are dumb canon affairs.

There's a bunch of potential balancing issues that should be addressed. Most have already been said (stronger bosses, nerfing items, etc.), but here's one I didn't see yet: Make the characters actually fit their archetypes better.

Mario is the balanced all-rounder, Mallow is the all magic no physical black mage, Geno is the all attack no defence glass cannon attacker, Bowser is the all physical no magic warrior and Peach is the bad at everything but can heal white mage. You can tell this is what they were going for based on their early states and growth, but by the end I think the only one who fit their archetype was Bowser except his physical was worse than everyone else's too.

I always play as a woman, and I thought the VA did a pretty good job; general consensus seems to lean towards this being the case as well.

To be honest, when your (female) character finally finds 'Shaun' in the Institute is one of the few moments in any of these games (including NV) that actually stirred a bit of emotion in me.

Also, one of my favorite bits in the game (so much so that I do it the same way every playthrough regardless of build or what my companion thinks of it) is during the Silver Shroud quest; at every opportunity I take the goofy superhero-voice dialogue options, right up until the very last dialogue option with Sinjin, where you can punk his minions into retreating by breaking character and telling them that you're going to slaughter every last one of them; the VA sells that line pretty well imo.

When I first played the game I got about an hour in as the male player before I gave up and quit because of how bad his voice acting was. While looking up who he was I learned that the female player was voiced by the same woman who did Jack in Mass Effect so I started a new game as a female and it was a night and day difference. She was infinitely better.

An anime based on an arcade card game in Japan that's basically a fanfic that heavily leans on time travel, among other things, to utilize basically every character in the series and gives them all nearly every transformation imaginable as well as several new ones invented for the series.

Like there's literally a scene where a Goku and Vegeta from one timelime fuse into SSJ4 Gogeta and a Goku and Vegeta from another timeline fuse into SSBE Gogeta and then the two Gogeta fight together (and lose BTW).

The game throws shit at you just for playing it. Play the game.
Ordinarily I would agree with this, but dragon parts and star fragments are a thing. You'll rarely collect them "as you play", you pretty much have to set out to find them and in the amounts you need for armor upgrades alone (assuming this game is comparable to BOTW) farming them is just too painful. You realize Ocarina of Time allows you to trick the game into putting a bottle on your B button. Then rewrites your inventory based on what is in the bottle and what is on your C-Right button every time you use it, right?

Or that you can hover with bombs and bombchus.

Or that you can slide incredibly quickly along the ground which can also push you through solid objects and out of bounds.

Or the plethora of other places you can clip out of bounds via side hopping and jump slashing. Oh and you can skip right by the Door of Time doing this.

Or that you can equip child only items as an adult and vice versa

Or that you can do a mini hop that lets you grab otherwise unreachable ledges

Or that you can play any item as an ocarina as long as you have a bottle with bugs or fish

Or that you can put away a lit stick while standing next to a torch and then pull that stick out in a different spot and it'll still be lit.

Or that you can trick the game into loading a room and a cutscene simultaneously which instead warps you around the game

Or that you can pull a Spooky Mask out of a chest stuck in the ass of the Gerudo Archery girl

Oh and should we count the fact that crouch stabbing wasn't given a damage value so it utilizes the damage table of the previous used attack, allowing you to store specific damage values in an extremely fast and easy to use attack?

And that's barely scratching the surface. Seriously there are few games with as many glitches and exploits as Ocarina of Time.

Probably Ultima IX: Ascension

Usually when a game is this bad I just quit playing it, so other contenders for "worst game I've ever played" aren't eligible. But I'd played the entire rest of the main Ultima series up to that point so I was determined to finish this one too.

In every aspect this game was a failure. From a technical aspect; it crashed all the time, it was riddled with bugs, the hit detection was horrible, audio would freeze, and it was horrifically laggy. From a story standpoint it completely butchered or straight up ignored the previous eight games in the series. Hell the opening cutscene directly contradicted the end of Ultima VIII. From a gameplay standpoint; the combat was weak, the animations were horrible, the side quests were awful (and this was a series known for convoluted side quests), and the world was about half the size of Ultima VII because the 3D graphics used up so much memory. The voice acting was also terrible though this was a bit more forgivable as voice acting in video games was still pretty bad in general in 1999 (that said, MGS was a million times better and came out a year earlier).
