Jesus, are you exclusively hitting that "suggested reply" feature that some text and email software have?

Any pre-2000s Zelda game or the N64 era Rare games. Partly nostalgia I'm sure but it feels to me like sound design hit a peak at that point. Because shortly thereafter the trend became making game sounds as realistic as possible and the whole cartoon-y chime and jingle sound effect era ended.

Yes, both to donate old clothes and check for new ones. I live within fifteen minutes of several goodwill stores that are in very affluent suburbs and it's truly amazing what rich people get rid of. I have been wearing a pair of sandals for years that probably cost $200 new and someone got rid of them after maybe using them once. The tread on the bottom was flawless. I paid $3.

Lots of great info, thanks. I think my biggest concern would be the carpets--the inevitable stain here and there that won't come out. If that's part of their routine wear in an apartment then I won't worry about breaking my back scrubbing them out.

If the landlord's going to allegedly hire cleaners as a pretense for keeping your money regardless of how much effort you put into cleaning, why not leave it dirty enough for the cleaners to have something to do? That's not to say you should make a bunch of holes in the wall or anything else that goes beyond just not scrubbing the place down, but unless you actually get your deposit back, there's little point in putting real effort into making it perfect.

Precisely. The place is still in good condition and we haven't caused any damage or anything like that. I'm just paranoid about them "finding" a reason to withhold my security deposit no matter how much work I put into cleaning, etc.

Aww man I remember playing TLA and loving it. That was probably one of the first games that ever drove me to visit this site, because I inevitably got stuck on some puzzle and youtube didn't exist yet. Might have even been the reason I created an account so I could post on the message board.

I'm buying a house soon. When I left my last apartment to move to my current one, I brought some friends over after the furniture had all gone and we spent a few hours scrubbing, wiping down, vacuuming, etc. to make the place more or less move-in friendly for the next tenants.

And then later I only got about 10% of my security deposit back because the management "had to hire cleaners" and attached a summary with all sorts of things that were clearly totally redundant to what we had already done, because we had taken good care of the place. Not sure if that was just a scumbag move from my old management or if that's standard practice to keep as much money as possible. The management at my current place are definitely better people but if they're going to pull the same move and eat my entire deposit I'd rather just save myself the time and effort and not bother cleaning at all on the way out. Anyone have any similar experiences or perspective?

I know there have been successors to FZero in gameplay but they lack what I like about the series the most, the huge crazy cast, cool setting and incredible soundtracks
like how attached I am to characters that have maybe 4 lines of nonsensical dialogue is a testament to the strength of the character and machine design, they all have theme songs!!! who does that?

Several of the fzero gx soundtrack are on my gym playlist including this one. Killer soundtrack in general.

The ports of multiple f zero games to the Switch expansion pack are giving me hope there will be a GX remaster/remake/new game. Not high hopes, mind you, but after years of absolute radio silence on the franchise my hopes have gone from 0.5% to maybe like 10%.

Presidency needs age limits, too. Tired of this country being run by fucking decrepit old bags
I firmly believe that no one should be able to run for any congressional position or the presidency if they are over the national retirement age. And raising the retirement age is one of the few things that is universally opposed across the aisle. So if they tried to raise it to stay in power they'd be voted out anyway.

It's especially dangerous in the judicial branch. We're coming up against a new generation that will be dictated by AI and we have people making laws who don't understand what social media is or how it works. Fucking dinosaurs.

If you don't have a partner or spouse splitting the cost I don't think you can afford a house on any job other than a high powered corporate gig. My wife and I make solid money and we spend about 45% of our income on mortgage, insurance, etc.

2 bedrooms? That's luxury. Why do you need 2?
Also 40 hours? I work on average 60. Only lazy people who have no backbone work 40 hours a week.
Imagine thinking this is how the world should work and being proud of slaving away for crumbs when billionaires exist.

Left wing is going to torch down cities because of police brutality, the right wing is going to have lone gunmen, inspired by internet communities to shoot up LGBTQ clubs and storm the capital building.

The left seems to do more property damage, the right seems to do more actual killing.

(this is my observation which may actually be complete bullshit)
Most of the property damage done during 'riots' over police brutality is committed by random assholes who show up to just take advantage of the chaos and have no stake in the political motivation behind the original protesting.
