Sort of, mainly since the Vietnam War ties into presidential history in key ways a few times. So US History teachers emphasize parts of that war.

Ive heard company execs talk mad shit about people with gaps in their employment history.

Yes, but that was when I was really young. And I think technically the internet was already around, just super limited.

But then when I did know internet as a kid, for many years it was the dial up version and my older brother usually hogged it at home. To me it was more of a thing I associated with school.

I was laid off (it was a technicality - but its a good thing for unemployment if you want to ask for it) at my first office job and was told on Monday but that it wasnt effective until Friday.

That sounds like pretty serious hemming and hawing from her and youre not married or with kids from what I saw in the thread.

Which means that she likely physically or at least emotionally cheated on you already and is basically egging you on to end the relationship anyway so she can look like the good guy to her family or anybody else that asks.

If you were married or had kids, itd be different, but its probably time to just give her what she wants - a firm break up. Leaving a fianc doesnt really matter today like it mightve used to.

I've been able to consistently pass as somebody who people can't guess where I'm from. I've read that this isn't that uncommon with my age group though (younger millennials) since we just grew up with cable tv.

I used to think it was slightly cool to watch in the early 2010's. Not really interested in it anymore at all though.

I mean, the lower end type of jobs these days are kinda feasible for people...but they're very unlikely to be living in the American "ideal" situation of not needing welfare / living on their own. Cost of living is just way too high generally. If they do still manage to pull that off, they're likely living spartan as hell.

I kinda think it's slightly hilarious how grown-ass adults really think their partner could ever be truly honest about this type of stuff.

As far as t/s saying exactly who/what they are to a guy...there are multiple layers to that discussion. I think the common sense thing right now is that t/s are usually advised to be up-front about it to be proactive and avoid possible violence. In that sense, he's not much of an asshole since he paid for the meal and just peacefully left. Anything beyond that is parsing something for no purpose.

I can say as a guy myself though that I think it's kinda implicit guy code to soldier thru a date. You're already on the date - may as well go thru with that much. It's not likely you're planning to do anything else in the meantime anyway. I've personally been on many unpleasant dates and you just ghost them after and call it a day.
