If my nose doesn't like it, I'm definitely not putting it in my mouth, I don't care what it is. Stinky Tofu is about as pleasant as some of the nastiest smelling farts I've vented between my ass cheeks, would stinky tufu enjoyers like me to bottle up my farts so they can whiff them out of jars to fancy their strange palettes?

But now you're some how equating all tofu to stinky tofu. There are so many variations on how to prepare tofu, and you seem to be equating them all.

I would sya that bad stinky tofu is really bad. Essentially it should smell bad when being cooked, but the actual tofu's smell and taste should not have the same odor. Good stinky tofu is actually really good.

So California wants to sue a hand full of companies for misinformation and deception only right. This lawsuit has nothing to do with actually fighting climate change.
If it was a legit cause, they would sue the following:
-The countries of China and India for being the two largest polluters on the planet
-Every cattle producer as methane gas from cows are the main contributor to the green house gases
-Every airline which releases massive air pollution from their planes
-Every cruise ship for polluting the oceans by dumping their waste and sewage into the water
-Every plastic fabricator for creating micro plastics what pollute land and sea
-Every automobile manufacturer that creates machines that produce CO2 and Carbon monoxide
-Every energy provider that uses fossil fuel natural gas and diesel to generate their electricty grid

They didn't sue every entity associated with climate change, so this bill isn't about climate change. Great logic.

I have self control so I don't watch a whole season in one sitting. Weekly releases are just so streaming services can string people along instead of them getting it for a month and canceling when they watch the new show.

That's absolutely why they do it. But also, if you have self control, you can just wait until all the episodes are released, get the streaming service, and watch all the episodes.

Prefer all episodes at once.

That being said, I'm confident that model is part of the problem why some writers and actors are paid peanuts.

To pump out that style of a model, it's difficult to keep your consumer based motivated to keep subscribers. As a result, they have to keep pumping out new movies and TV series. Which companies being as greedy as companies tend to be, that usually hurts the writers and actors (the non high paid ones).

That model also helps to contribute to why many shows get canceled. Once a week is better for those of you going to catch another season of a particular show.

To me? Never. But witnessed?

I teach at a high school that used a native American mascot. The local tribe politely asked us 3 years ago to change it, and last year we finally listened. We haven't picked what the new mascot will be yet, but that's the setting. Then this week I overheard a group of white students say "we should be the Mexicans."

Also this week a student reported to me that other students were using racist names to refer to a teacher of Asian descent.

During the George Flloyd protests, my brother defended the cops actions and said that I wasn't taking into account that it happened in the ghetto and not the suburbs.

If you're comfortable to say, where do you teach?

Even if the miracles are legit and the prophet is Christian, why would that mean there is a Christian god?

  • Can the prophet be lying?
  • Can the miracles be from another source (technology that is alien or yet undiscovered)?
  • Can it be from another god? Or better yet the 'devil'?
  • Why must the existence of miracles portend some higher power?

In the link, there is more than one thing.

There is a causal relationship between obesity and exercise.

While the grander point may be that the lack of good food sources and opportunities for physical activity result in obesity, the end result is that obese individuals are far more likely to develop other negative health conditions.

As a side note, the body positive movement would also work in reverse where we shouldn't judge individuals who are at an unhealthy weight, but still find ways to encourage then to gain back to a healthy weight.

I disagree. Your premise is based on the assumption that decent people do not and will not own or run a business. Forced tolerance punishes them too and even more so I would say. I am also talking about non essential services.

Yes how terrible it is for the government to force a business to serve all customers regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, orientation, or identity. All those decent people will certainly be against that.

People really don't understand what a protected class is (or what it should be), and say shit like "Well I don't want to serve someone not wearing shoes, so these are the same things!" They're not.

It wouldn't be hard to prove open carry really was the cause if they just examined the other states after green lighting theirs.

From the first article which you must have read :

That law, research suggests, increased violent crime rates. In a 2017 working paper, researchers with Stanford University, the University of California at Berkeley and Columbia University found that concealed carry laws sometimes called right to carry laws were associated with a 13% to 15% higher violent crime rate 10 years after adoption. Such analyses are constructed by complex models that estimate how firearm death rates would have progressed in the state absent the change.

But I really, really don't think judges should be anywhere within a hundred miles of under-the-table deals or friendly relations with mobsters. Corruption of the judiciary is too heavy a price to pay for the fun of a bit of Nazi-bashing. The CIA sometimes got into bed with organized crime in its Cold War search for allies against communism, and I'd view this in the same light. Judges should never tell gangsters, "thanks, that's one I owe you." I don't really care what the cause is, and I don't view gangsters as antiheroes just for beating up a few Silver Shirts for a change instead of some poor schmuck who's behind on his protection payments.

Again I agree. The whole scenario demonstrated in the book feels morally off and the author seems to be quite fond of the gangsters and dismissive of many of the horrible things they have done. At the same time, I'm amazed that many of these Murder Inc. and related individuals didn't actually kill any nazis when they killed so many non-nazis beforehand.

Judges working hand in glove with violent organized crime? Sure. Always good to know that gangsters could wipe the slate squeaky clean for terrorizing neighbourhoods and beating up a couple of people every week for failing to pay protection money, just by giving one or two Nazis a bit of a kicking now and again.

Not that aspect of it. More that people would just go to punch out a bunch of nazis.

Reading a book now called Gangsters VS. Nazis. Basically a judge in the mid 1930s saw the Rise of Nazis in the US and felt it was bullshit, so he contacted Jewish gangsters in many cities throughout the US and asked them to rough up the Nazis at rallies. Not to a point where anyone would die, but certainly yo make sure there broken bones and a significant mark left to help deter future rallies.

Wonder if that should return.

And parents enter into a social contract with school when sending their kids to them. I'm sure there are established rules that dictate a teacher can do this. If a parent disagrees with those rules, they can have a conversation with the administration or sue the school district. Good luck with the latter.
