Stinky Tofu is about as pleasant as some of the nastiest smelling farts I've vented between my ass cheeks, would stinky tufu enjoyers like me to bottle up my farts so they can whiff them out of jars to fancy their strange palettes? But now you're some how equating all tofu to stinky tofu. There are so many variations on how to prepare tofu, and you seem to be equating them all. I would sya that bad stinky tofu is really bad. Essentially it should smell bad when being cooked, but the actual tofu's smell and taste should not have the same odor. Good stinky tofu is actually really good. |

The once a week thing just makes me have to watch the previous episode first before the new one. That should tell you something about your retention. specialkid8 posted... I have self control so I don't watch a whole season in one sitting. Weekly releases are just so streaming services can string people along instead of them getting it for a month and canceling when they watch the new show. That's absolutely why they do it. But also, if you have self control, you can just wait until all the episodes are released, get the streaming service, and watch all the episodes. |

pistachio12 07/23/23 5:25:59 PM #29 | [LFAQs-redacted-quote] In the link, there is more than one thing. There is a causal relationship between obesity and exercise. While the grander point may be that the lack of good food sources and opportunities for physical activity result in obesity, the end result is that obese individuals are far more likely to develop other negative health conditions. As a side note, the body positive movement would also work in reverse where we shouldn't judge individuals who are at an unhealthy weight, but still find ways to encourage then to gain back to a healthy weight. |

pistachio12 07/11/23 2:44:25 PM #80 | Thud posted... I disagree. Your premise is based on the assumption that decent people do not and will not own or run a business. Forced tolerance punishes them too and even more so I would say. I am also talking about non essential services. Yes how terrible it is for the government to force a business to serve all customers regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, orientation, or identity. All those decent people will certainly be against that. People really don't understand what a protected class is (or what it should be), and say shit like "Well I don't want to serve someone not wearing shoes, so these are the same things!" They're not. |

From the first article which you must have read : That law, research suggests, increased violent crime rates. In a 2017 working paper, researchers with Stanford University, the University of California at Berkeley and Columbia University found that concealed carry laws sometimes called right to carry laws were associated with a 13% to 15% higher violent crime rate 10 years after adoption. Such analyses are constructed by complex models that estimate how firearm death rates would have progressed in the state absent the change. Prismsblade posted... pistachio12 06/26/23 11:48:11 AM #50 | Vampire_Chicken posted... But I really, really don't think judges should be anywhere within a hundred miles of under-the-table deals or friendly relations with mobsters. Corruption of the judiciary is too heavy a price to pay for the fun of a bit of Nazi-bashing. The CIA sometimes got into bed with organized crime in its Cold War search for allies against communism, and I'd view this in the same light. Judges should never tell gangsters, "thanks, that's one I owe you." I don't really care what the cause is, and I don't view gangsters as antiheroes just for beating up a few Silver Shirts for a change instead of some poor schmuck who's behind on his protection payments. Again I agree. The whole scenario demonstrated in the book feels morally off and the author seems to be quite fond of the gangsters and dismissive of many of the horrible things they have done. At the same time, I'm amazed that many of these Murder Inc. and related individuals didn't actually kill any nazis when they killed so many non-nazis beforehand. |

pistachio12 06/26/23 11:17:23 AM #44 | Vampire_Chicken posted... Judges working hand in glove with violent organized crime? Sure. Always good to know that gangsters could wipe the slate squeaky clean for terrorizing neighbourhoods and beating up a couple of people every week for failing to pay protection money, just by giving one or two Nazis a bit of a kicking now and again. Not that aspect of it. More that people would just go to punch out a bunch of nazis. |

pistachio12 06/26/23 11:02:09 AM #39 | Reading a book now called Gangsters VS. Nazis. Basically a judge in the mid 1930s saw the Rise of Nazis in the US and felt it was bullshit, so he contacted Jewish gangsters in many cities throughout the US and asked them to rough up the Nazis at rallies. Not to a point where anyone would die, but certainly yo make sure there broken bones and a significant mark left to help deter future rallies. Wonder if that should return.
