[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

I really don't think it's as weird as you try to depict.

1. I came across an old topic.
2. Remember it was locked after not violating any known rule.
3. I decided to inquire on this board.
4. That poll was locked. So I asked a related topic regarding a website process
5. Then that topic was locked so I continue trying to bring attention to it since I believe it shouldn't happen

You and others acting like it's some gimmick and not a natural sequence of events is the weird thing.

Why did you wait so long to respond?

And why do mods consider that disruptive posting?

And why do you care so much that you had to make this topic? just let it go
1) Because life happened. Doesn't help that slow moving boards help topics fly under the radar

2) That's a good question. I figured the topic lock reason was "disruptive posting" but no moderator has addressed this issue.

3) Because I believe the topic had potential for good discussion and poll data.

I'm unable to dispute the topic closure as it's not a formal moderation so I create a new topic in an attempt to contest the decision.

I reason the fact that I only posted once before thus should be granted an opportunity to respond. The board is slow moving and the discussion moved towards the end (oldest) of my post history. Actual disruption would be multiple thread bumps and/or unrelated discussion. This website systematically closes/deletes topics if no one posts so mod interference is unnecessary.

No further action by the moderation team.

I like it because Corey finding Michael's corpse debunks the supernatural abilities, but at the same time solidifies Michael's legendary fear-grip on Haddonfield. Despite being dead, his Evil seeps into residents of the small town and there will always be a boogeyman.

I would have preferred the rumored original planned trilogy (all three films set on the same night). But if the filmmakers truly had to main Corey Cunningham then I would have preferred Halloween Ends to go like this:

Film goes the same way as release, except at the end Michael Myers is revealed to have been dead since 2018 from old age/wounds. The revelation is that Corey found Michael's corpse and mask and hallucinated the slasher still being alive. Corey became the new Shape of Evil.

Topics being closed are not moderations, a moderation is created with a specific ID and remains on your usermap for a time depending on the action taken.

Topics are typically closed when the original post itself wasn't a violation but things might've gone off the rails and veered into territory where many potential violations begin occurring.
Thank you. This clears up my initial inquiry. Follow-up question (post #4 above), does this reasoning make such topics appropriate for discussion on the Ask the Mods Message board?

You replying weeks late is a fact that I'm hoping you're not disputing, because good luck, the post history is right there.

That you are biased to see a topic continue despite the conversation being over is a conclusion I've drawn and I think it's a pretty fair one.
I'm not disputing when my post was made. Me replying late and the subsequent closure of that topic led to my initial inquiry. I agree that naturally a person would like to see their topic/poll continue. I just don't understand how that desire is against GameFAQs ToS if no rules are broken.

The reason for that one is simply because there's no reason not to leave topics open for an extended time if there's worth keeping the discussion going. It's mostly tied to the idea of game boards and game help requests.
My follow up to this response is how do moderators decide what is worth discussing? If no one responded after my final post, then the topic would have closed itself. I believe the moderators should allow the website to run its course without interference

This further supports the conclusion that you had no actual motivation other than to keep your own topic from being archived.

Especially if you feel incentivized to subvert moderator action.
The conclusion that I had no "motivation other than to keep [my] own topic from being archived" stems from assumption. You may have a point if I just posted "bump", but I responded to unanswered questions and confusion about the poll.

That's not the point being argued. You could have broken the character limit on a long essay post and it'd still be the case of you bumping a topic that only you care about six weeks after everyone else stopped caring.

You still remain just as biased to see your own topic continue, when you could be making new topics and new discussions.

EDIT: Which a quick scan of the board confirms that you do all the same. Most of them rather uninspired, but that's just my opinion.
Is the point being argued that I replied weeks late, or that I am biased to see the topic continue?

If the former argument, then I already addressed this in the form of my question from post #8 which has yet to be answered. To reiterate, why would this website allow topics to remain open for so long if users are discouraged from responding?

If the latter argument, then I also addressed this in my post from #31. To add, penalizing topic creators for posting seems to promote unnecessary work arounds such as usage of alternate accounts in order to avoid topic closure due to "biased" bumping.

And boy am I glad I was given a reminder of why I don't go to the Star Wars board anymore.
The "argument going nowhere" seems to come from bias. The topic was a simple survey with the ability to post opinions if users choose to. Save for a few obnoxious and/or insulting posters, the discussions seemed okay. Those few insulting messages could have moderated instead of ending the entire thread for everyone.
