As mentioned above, I created a topic to dispute the moderator action. That topic also became locked by a moderator prematurely ending the discussion despite not breaking any rules.

Why did you wait so long to respond?

Necrobumping being labeled disruptive posting is fair, yes.

Topics being closed are not moderations, a moderation is created with a specific ID and remains on your usermap for a time depending on the action taken.

Topics are typically closed when the original post itself wasn't a violation but things might've gone off the rails and veered into territory where many potential violations begin occurring.

You replying weeks late is a fact that I'm hoping you're not disputing, because good luck, the post history is right there.

That you are biased to see a topic continue despite the conversation being over is a conclusion I've drawn and I think it's a pretty fair one.

The reason for that one is simply because there's no reason not to leave topics open for an extended time if there's worth keeping the discussion going. It's mostly tied to the idea of game boards and game help requests.

This further supports the conclusion that you had no actual motivation other than to keep your own topic from being archived.

Especially if you feel incentivized to subvert moderator action.

That's not the point being argued. You could have broken the character limit on a long essay post and it'd still be the case of you bumping a topic that only you care about six weeks after everyone else stopped caring.

You still remain just as biased to see your own topic continue, when you could be making new topics and new discussions.

EDIT: Which a quick scan of the board confirms that you do all the same. Most of them rather uninspired, but that's just my opinion.

As the topic creator, you have a bias to see the topic keep going compared to everyone else on that board.

Necrobumping is not a thing. If the topic is still active (i.e. it's still possible to reply in it) it's fair game. Getting worked up about something like that is pretty pathetic.

You say "bias" but it is ultimately a matter of mod discretion.

In this case, I'd wager it was less the necro-bumping and more the argument going nowhere. That's a matter of mod discretion, and they will do so if they feel that the topic can lead to potential violations.

And boy am I glad I was given a reminder of why I don't go to the Star Wars board anymore.

In the case of a community board, minor things like disruptive posting are left to the discretion of the board owner. They're only obligated to enforce the major rules.
