Regarding the wealth question; I'd say the student body trends towards wealthier for sure, but it's worth noting the financial aid program there is pretty amazing. It's a really tough university, especially since it's on a 10 week quarter system, and also the computer science program's hella competitive. Stanford is a weird place where an unusually large percentage of the student body is just on another level in terms of accomplishment, and it's easy to feel like you're just not cut out for it.
