Yeah I think Noel was already in the process of crumbling before Lloyd dueled her and it was just what broke her resolve entirely. The problem Noel had was that her whole life up to that point was focused around the CGF and so letting go of that and realizing she needs to protect the spirit of it instead of the actual thing itself wasn't easy for her. She was just looking for an excuse to pull the trigger to fully defect from the CDF and Lloyd provided it.

I do agree she is the weakest character of the party, though.

also count me in the Cold Steel is for the most part just as good as the rest of the series camp. I personally even like CS3 and Reverie more than Azure and think CS4 is pretty up there too.

Yeah you have to pass a damage threshold to clear the fight, but not win.
You CAN win, though, like with the Loewe fight in Sky SC.

Yeah chapter 4 is basically where Azure kicks into gear for the rest of the game.

Randy's backstory is quite cool. I'd even go so far as to say its my favorite bit of Zero/Azure.

Yeah I think this is definitely for the best. Even as someone that doesn't suffer superhero fatigue and liked following both the shows and movies, it is a bit much. I'd rather have fewer and better quality shows and movies than a bunch of 'eh its alright' ones like we've been mostly getting.

Saw it tonight myself. Overall it was a fine movie.

This is the first time I've actually liked the MCU Captain Marvel as a character and generally all three leading characters were great. The biggest complaint I have about the movie is it felt very... tonally inconsistent? Like individually the serious moments and the silly moments were well written, but I look at the Skrull world collapsing scene and look at the scene on the dance planet or the Florken escape plan and feel like they... just kind of don't belong in the same movie? It wasn't as bad as Thor 4's weird mix of horror and juvenile kid jokes or anything, but it almost gave me whiplash with how stark of a difference some scenes had.

But overall I enjoyed it. It's definitely not one of the MCU's best, but it wasn't bad either. I don't think people with Superhero/Marvel fatigue will like it because it does nothing new or tries to break the superhero formula mold at all, but I don't particularly suffer from that specific illness, so it was fun.

Yeah some of the more off the wall choices are actually super interesting in the fortune teller.

I havent seen a commercial in like 10 years aside from the good Super Bowl ones people link online each year.

Is it really? With the exception of the final choice where Randy asks who looks the best the others are split up enough that it's like 3 runs I think. With Turbo Mode and holding down the button to basically skip text on anything redundant I don't feel it's that bad. Unless you're including permutations of losing and stuff, I guess.

3H is really the only one that isnt and thats entirely because of how awful the Monastery is for replays.

I just hope they dont do major diverging story you have to pick between again in the next game. It was ass in both Fates and 3H and resulted in none of the routes being polished as much as they should be and a mess of an inconsistent and poorly fleshed out plot.

Did did you actually finish Inscryption? Calling the stuff outside the card game a basic escape room is incredibly disingenuous.

the mechanics of Inscryption arent even the point anyway. Its more of a narrative game with some framing gameplay than anything else.

Can't go wrong with A Hat in Time, Inscryption, Stanley Parable, or Outer Wilds DLC

The ending isn't great even after the patch to improve it but it's not bad enough to anti-recommend the games or anything. It's just slightly disappointing after all the build up.

Before the patch it was pretty anger inducing though.

Still possibly my favorite series from the late 2000s/early 2010s.

Yeah I think its very likely they'll reference CC in Rebirth but its completely not important at all for Remake.

Dirge of Cerberus is more important for Remake (and by that I mean, marginally for the DLC mostly)

One thing this topic did is actually make me appreciate Remake more for the right reasons

I love the original FF7 from my memories, but in retrospect it does have a lot of weird issues with how it portrays the characters and plot that so far Remake has done a really good job fixing or improving. Even the one 'stumbling block' Remake has with its plot is looking like it might not be once it gets expanded upon, as well (Won't go into this so you can see for yourself). So yeah, I'd love a Remake topic.

Oh yeah it absolutely makes zero sense having played them now, but as someone that heard "It's Japanese GTA" from all the gaming magazines and such I just believed them and had no interest in looking into it further.

I would love to get into Ciconia, even bought it, just never played it for one reason or another.
But it just feels like a waste to play it now that its on indefinite hiatus :\

I'm not the demographic you asked for (I started with Y0) but I basically was forced into the series by a friend telling me to play Y0 over and over. I always knew about the series but I always had the impression it was "GTA set in Japan" and I hate GTA.

God was that the wrong way to market the series back when it first was getting started over here. I absolutely would have loved it from the beginning.
