I had a few here think I was making my experience and loss of my friend up. There is proper response is "I'm sorry for your loss" or add to the conversation. I understand what Jeff is going through, I hope I can help him through it. I still have a lot of self doubt and guilt to work through. Did I do enough? Did I add to her problems 6 years ago with our feud that set us on this path. If I never met her(officialy) would the outcome have been the same? I think we had to go though the fire and came out better on the other side. I would not be here now if she didn't have the compassion to say "come see me and well talk" That's empathy

Thank you for having a place where we can help you and also help others who have and will go through similar experiences as some here have.

That was what my friend wanted in Oct before she got the flu. We had made some appointments with a GI to see if the source of her abdomen pain could be pinpointed and resolved. We pushed it back a bit later was her choice. She had a excerbation and its was serious. While in the hospital picked up the flu. It was there she said she was done. I mean it took its toll. If she had just the pain and not being able to breathe on her own. It was going blind on top of everything else. I think she wanted to live and get better but she was looking down the road and it didnt look like something she wanted to deal with. Best way to describe it would be pull the band aid off and let go. So they did. Send her home with home hospice on her own terms. I understand this article. Did she have mental issues? Yes. Just not the real reason to end her life. I disagree

It's not trying to turn its trying to understand the others hobby's. And learn to support what the other does. My friend worked with Horses, race them, train them, break them if people asked. When I lived with her she knew I was a gamer. Never criticized it. When she could see was intrested in a few. She knew I also needed me time. It was usually when she went to sleep. Sadly wasn't very often. The pain, the anxiety that the next breath could be your last. Then going blind on top of it. Anyway that's how it should work . She didn't mind my hobby.

Along that line my friend wanted to start a podcast on Horse Racing as that was her passion and hobby. I had the equipment since a few years earlier I was starting one. I sometimes think she wanted to leave something behind. Know what I mean?

We had that conversation Jeff. She knew it was a big ask. I also having lost our mutual friend just 8 months earlier was a huge ask. I said I'll handle it. Over the next 15 months she said she was sorry numerous times. I'd reply it was my choice. I owe you alot and I couldn't just say no and walk away. It's a bad thing to live alone and die alone. She also wanted it on her own terms. To her own detriment sometimes. God Bless her though. Man was she strong

In ways I understand your last post. It's a underlying anger that can eat at you. I was in shock the first month and lets be honest I was 100% alone for the first time in my life. There were always friends to comfort me. Unlike you I did not get the you are doing fine from people. Her daughter said you did the best you could. I could never get a bead on what she meant. One hand was she saying I didn't do enough or was she saying it was inevitable. That doubt has eat at me since Did I really do enough? I don't know. Lets also know I really didn't grieve. I went from taking care of her hoping she might live another year to shock over her passing to preparing her funeral arrangment then got ill and could no longer drive to take care of my self. It's almost 2 years on and I'm getting worse not better.

There is a chance for a little brightness. One of those friends made contact today. Although it was just more than seasons greetings it's the first time we have talked in 3 years. It's nice to know I'm still in their thoughts. They know some of the early events but not all.

Yeah you count the days. It will stop eventually. My friend died on Jan 12th. To her it was significant because it was also her Husbands birthday. It's weird how that things happen like that

I think you had a post a week or so ago about dreams. I had one the other day. We were shopping which we did alot when it was early in her illness. She could walk a good bit but got winded easily. I like to think she was telling me this was the good times. I've been dealing with another health issue and it while it is only temporary it has me worried it wont be. It's been keeping me up at all hours. For instance sleep most of the day, stay up all night, not sleep for another 2 days. My friend went through a similar thing but sometimes it would be up to 5 days.

Just had my first dream where Lindsay was still alive... and she like, came back to life? Like, it was months later and she just kinda showed up. In the Dream she had been dead for months. The dream ended when I mentioned to her that I received her ashes.

She turned to me and said, "Are you sure you're OK?" and when I replied I was and I was just really confused why I would have her ashes, she said, "No you're right, that is strange and something is wrong..." and then I woke up.

When she was alive Lindsay would tell me that when she dreamed of people in her life who passed away they were just popping by to make sure you are OK. I'm not a spiritual person but if that is the case, glad you came by Lindsay. I'm doing alright.

I looked into this. From what I read it's a way of them tell you they are alright. It's to also check on you. While I dont subscribe to it, I'm open to it. I haven't experienced it myself. Now not in the same way about 8 months ago I heard a clear bell in the kitchen. Nothing there makes that noise. I did some research and from what I read it's either a angel or a visitation. I'm leaning towards Visitation. It would have to be my sister, partner, or friend. I'm leaning towards friend because she worried alot for me during her last few months. I think mentally I'm great, health? No

Fear the Walking Dead. Nearly fell asleep.

It gets better. I like it over the orginal show. I quit og at Termius. Fear was a bit different because in the early seasons I didnt watch it. I came in at the mexico arc, left before the farm came back right before logan then left again. The last month I did a total rewatch and while it has problems it's decent and its mostly logical how they do things. I dont have the character hate that some have. I liked Travis

I use to. The small town I lived in you knew everyone there. Now the local one now is too large and no one is friendly.

I'm sorry. I went through something similar. They put some helmet on my friend and were trying to keep her oxygen up. I sadly had to make the call for her. Worse 5 mins of my life. She woke up a day later asked where she was, then died over night.

Either have been put under for a operation or local to fix a broken wrist. The surgery was about a blood cyst was on my chest. I was a kid and there was a log and I scraped it on it and it burst. I would have bled out if I hadnt been rushed to the ER. I woke up halfway through and could see the reflection. It's a pretty large scar and although childhood I was teased. Some kids thought it was a spider. Lol

I stopped fucking with skullcandy because time and time again their ear buds proved to be the lowest quality pieces of shit on the market each and every single time I gave them a chance. Not once had a single pair I bought lasted longer than a month. Skullcandy is such an awful brand. I don't know how they're even still in business or why people buy their shit.

I have a in the ear wired pair. I've had them at least 10 years. Mind you recently they have been boxed up since my move in 2020, then couldn't use them because of the bells palsy (loud thumping in ear). So about 7 years daily use. I switch between Sony and those.

My Sony pair bit it though. Pads wore out. I might buy another pair but I'll wait for a sale somewhere

Since Obama, a ton of MAGA types have moved to FL, making it more red (good news is, that in turn made several other states slightly more blue/purple), they've "swamped it", if you will.
Also, I think Obama normalizing relations w/ Cuba permanently shifted the Cuban-Americans in south FL to the Republican side. Fear of their short-sighted single-issue wrath was the main reason we never did it before, and it appears those fears were valid. That and constant GOP narratives of all Dems being "socialists" (even Biden) gradually working on them. They hate Castro, and any slight whiff of communism/socialism drives them right into the other party's arms.
I really can't put enough into words my disdain for them, and seeing all the consequences of their political choices coming back to bite them in the ass (climate change, surging insurance costs, etc...) brings me joy.

That said, to be fair... his opponent was fucking trash and I think less than a year later got arrested?
