You keep saying this about 2.0 t's, but you never give a reason as to why that makes the car "Not luxury". I can understand the CLA, that's a track car through and through, but the Giulia? Hardly.

CLA is not a track car, so I don't know what that's about.

I have a problem with 2.0L engines in $40+ cars, or even $30k+ cars. Luxury, to me, imparts a sense of quality and refinement of which 4 cylinder engines have neither. Most folks don't care because they don't even know how many cylinders are under the hood. I most certainly do care and refuse to buy a "luxury" car with anything fewer than 6 cylinders.

If I were in the market for a Giulia, nothing but the hotrod QV would grab my attention. Those 2.0 turbo examples (along with their C300/330i/A4 stablemates) may as well be Toyota Camrys to me.

Well Acura's are cheap s*** now, and the GS-F costs way too much for what it is.

I'll gladly pay for either, and I have. They'll afford me modern conveniences, quality and reliability without the headaches.

All other Giulias besides the QV use a 2.0 liter turbo, so there ain't nothing special about that. Don't care how much power it makes when the engine itself sounds like a lawnmower. If that's your idea of luxury and refinement, you can have it.

These Alfas seem to be made of glass, so I pity the fool who owns one out of warranty. Almost all the reviews of the Giulia show that it could be a potential maintenance nightmare. All the more reason why Acura/Lexus vehicles appeal to me for long term ownership.

Between games, consoles, other peripherals, etc., I'm easily into the hundreds of dollars. It's a drop in the bucket for me, but I don't care much about gaming anymore to spend that kind of money on it.

I still follow the current gaming landscape, but have since lost the urge to buy and invest time into playing.

That's awesome man. We were 5 months in and I knew she was a catch, but my previous 6 year long-distance almost marriage has made me realize that I don't want the distance anymore. And honestly, if I had known my girlfriend only for 5 months before we became long distance, it would've been much tougher to keep that relationship going. 5 months isn't very much time to build something lasting, so the temptation would be that much stronger.

Would I have called it quits? Not sure - even though the temptation would've been greater, none of the women I had met held a candle to my girlfriend in presentation, professionalism and, frankly, style.

I'm also 6'4" and my girlfriend is 5'10", so I wasn't about to downgrade >_>

Well yeah, because there's no money to be made off antibiotics since they're only used in the short term. When was the last time you saw an antibiotic commercial? Exactly.

Even fairly new drugs like Orbactiv or Vibativ are related to old faithful vancomycin. What we need are novel drugs with a unique mechanism of action, but no one wants to invest in the R&D.

TC's situation presents similar to mine - except we're both pharmacists instead of doctors.

My girlfriend and I met in pharmacy school and she was in the class ahead of me. After she graduated, she moved on over to D.C. to take an FDA job while I stayed in the Boston area for about 2 years to complete a pharmacy residency and work a bit (I'm with her now in the Baltimore/DC area). We did see each other every so often in those couple years, but it was tough being apart from her. My residency program had many like-minded individuals akin to myself and with all the conferences and outings we did, there was AMPLE opportunity to cheat.

But I never did. A big part of that is because my girlfriend (soon to be fiancé) and I were in pharm school together and saw each other daily for 3-4 good years before she graduated first. We built enough of a foundation where I didn't want to throw away all the time we spent together over some lousy drunken night in Vegas. And if I may add, it was quite easy for me to NOT cheat. I would always tell these women (some of them my co-residents) that I was seeing someone.

And I never ever regretted it.

I could conceivably spend ~$1k for a decent Swiss watch. Right now, my "nice" watch is a $700 Tissot and I use a $200 watch as my daily. I'm never buying anything in the five figure range because that's just ridiculous.

I don't like how they removed the Home button from the X. If they had moved it to the back or something, then I'd have been on board. Face ID or whatever sounds gimmicky, so I think I'll just get an 8 Plus whenever I do upgrade.

Break like "We should be able to casually date people for a few weeks" usually does not work out.

Yeah, that second option is what I interpret a "break" to be. There may be times in your relationship where you need some solitude to clear your head and that's reasonable. But to suggest to me that we should see other people for a couple months with the intention of getting back together later is game over for me.
