i mean, 10 years. i'm certain some of my games from back then would be highly embarrassing to look at.

we'd still clash i'm sure, but... probably less.

I'll admit I slightly overstate how important I am to the mafia community in that post I linked.

I think I was the driving force behind AIM mafia, which had a massive influence on the revival of board mafia.

But of course, board mafia did exist before me and would exist without me.

That said, I did bring a lot of CEers here.

I came up with 10 quiz questions for another player who had been my closest ally all game but was being heavily accused of being scum.

He had 60 seconds to answer each question to prove his alignment to me, after which I would deliberate on his answers and come back with a verdict: Either he is scum, or I commit to trusting him permanently.

I came back with my answer 5 minutes before the deadline, and my last words of the day were:

I declare myself as SS's defender until death.

This was the most intense competition I've ever been a part of. It consumed my life for 4 months, especially the times when I was in my three games. Board 8 has had some intense mafia games, and they don't compare to these games, particularly the wildcards (aka semi-finals) and finals.

Thank you to board 8 for nominating me for this. I wanted to make people here proud. But I didn't imagine it would ever come to this.

It was really one of the greatest experiences of my life. I've been playing mafia with you guys for 10 years, on and off. Really feels like it was building to this.
