The electrical grid was already on the verge of breaking down, and now it's just absolutely demolished. The news doesn't do enough to get this fact across. I have family in PR and stay there regularly. Power goes out almost weekly, and while this is usually only for a few hours, sometimes it lasts for days. There's no redundancy in the system, and government corruption had ensured that improvements and alternative power sources were eternally delayed.
