| Topic | Post Each Time You Beat a Game - 2018 Edition |
| Uglyface2 01/12/18 10:00:05 PM #49 | Well, it's part of the Ezio Collection, but Assassin's Creed 2 It hasn't aged well. The controls are kind of poop. When you're trying to jump from one spot to another, sometimes Ezio flies off in another direction entirely. That's meant falling from rooftops, landing on top of people and riling up the guards, and failing chase sequences. There were also the times Ezio climbed down a ladder only to climb back up a few steps when he reached the bottom, or ran up walls when I was trying to get him to turn and run. There's also some ear-splitting music, which I wound up turning down. I'm not sure whether I should move on to Brotherhood or play a different game/series entirely for a bit. |

| Uglyface2 01/11/18 9:56:59 PM #24 | 4. I've got a lot wrong with my life, but I'm holding out hope that there'll be a breakthrough in my career once I've gotten my masters degree. |
| Topic | What do you want to see next from the Super Mario Odyssey team? |

| Uglyface2 01/09/18 9:19:43 PM #5 | It's over and done with. I managed to land a job in spite of them, and I've been doing quite well at my new job. |
| Topic | Is there anything worse than filling out job applications on a crappy system? |
| Uglyface2 01/09/18 9:10:09 PM #3 | Sure, there is. You can fill out an application, do well on the testing, and then discover in your interview that your previous employer isn't abiding to the terms of your separation agreement and is instead telling people that they fired you. |
| Topic | Mickey Mouse may finally fall out of copyright |
| Uglyface2 01/09/18 7:37:41 PM #8 | Years ago, people called this the Mickey Mouse law because Disney had such a big hand in the copyright extensions. We've lost some creative works because of excessive copyright law, and that's a damn shame. |
| Topic | Sluggy Freelance big reveal week |
| Uglyface2 01/09/18 1:45:38 PM #1 | I don't know how many of you were ever into the webcomic Sluggy Freelance or how many of you have stayed with it over the years, but if you haven't been in a while then this week's a big one. There's been a major reveal over the Oasis character. I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who might be interested, but it's at www.sluggy.com if you want to read it. |

| Topic | Is changing disks getting annoying for you guys too? |
| Uglyface2 01/08/18 5:43:46 PM #74 | Yes. I didn't have this problem before, but the advent of digital games has made it feel cumbersome. That, and I've got a very cluttered game space and I have to go at an awkward angle to insert and retrieve discs. |

| Topic | Any project management people in here? How did you get experience? |
| Uglyface2 01/03/18 9:17:24 PM #1 | If everything goes according to plan then I'll have a master's degree in health information management in about 4 1/2 months. I took my elective classes classes in IT project management and in change leadership because I'd hoped that the knowledge would get me into a department that would in turn get me the experience I needed to move into a project management position. That opportunity really hasn't happened yet, and I've found out that my company wants people with a PMP certification for those positions. I'm a little frustrated, but I'm also not ready to give up. The certification requires roughly 2 years of full time experience in project management. I have no real experience in the field, just some classroom studies. I'm not even sure if my studies would count because my degree is entirely online. So, those of you with a PMP: how do you get a foot in the door? What counts toward the learning requirements? Finally, how do you record all of that to meet the requirements? |
| Topic | Lordy Lordy looks who is 40 |
| Uglyface2 01/01/18 11:58:13 AM #8 | 40 isn't so bad. Now you've got legal protection against age discrimination in hiring practices. (I haven't needed it, and I hope I never do.) |

| Topic | Star Wars: The Last Jedi: SPOILER TOPIC Episode IV: A New Grievance |
| Uglyface2 12/28/17 12:47:17 AM #13 | Just got done watching it. I liked Finn and Rose, they're obviously trying to develop something there so that Rey's character doesn't necessarily have a romantic subarc with Finn. That lets Rey develop in other, less traditional ways for a female character. (Rose's actress was obviously having a lot of fun with her role, which I think really helped.) Bitter old Luke? I think it worked. He never got to lesson 3 with Rey, so he'll probably come back as a spooky ghost and tell her in the next movie. |
| Topic | Have you ever learned an instrument before? |
| Uglyface2 12/26/17 10:57:44 PM #28 | "Learned" is being generous, but I did try to learn a few instruments. "Try" is being generous, because I half assed it and didn't really practice. |

| Uglyface2 12/25/17 6:54:39 PM #43 | What do you recommend for people who've never played MH Multiplayer? My runs on the 3DS usually include the dual blades and the great sword, but I'm told that certain combos are terrible for multiplayer. I'm not against learning a new weapon, when it comes down to it. |

| Topic | What is 'cold'? |
| Uglyface2 12/21/17 8:31:23 PM #9 | I'd love 57 degree weather right now. It's colder here. With that said, I have respect for people who live in even colder areas. Minnesota, for example. The kind of cold where you're afraid you're going to die running between your car and a building at a rest stop. |

I imagined I would put in a hundred or more hours on it, and in the end I think I topped out at 3. This. I've had a lot of disappointments, but this one hurt the worst. I can't bring myself to go back to it, even though people say the new material improves it. |
| Topic | Who is your most financially successful childhood friend? |
| Uglyface2 12/20/17 6:00:52 PM #34 | I didn't have a lot of friends growing up, but one guy I knew in high school won an Emmy for his writing on a Simpsons episode. A lady I kind of knew from a younger age does... IMDb calls it visual design, mostly, but she works on movies including the Marvel franchises. Then a lot of people earned doctorates and work as college professors. Honestly, for all the smoke my teachers blew up my ass I've turned out to be a disappointment. I've still got an estimated 30 years left in my career and I'm nearly finished with my Masters, so maybe I can pull something off. Not Emmy award winning, but something. |

| Topic | Kinda feel like binge-watching a show this weekend. Recs? |
| Uglyface2 12/14/17 10:11:36 PM #21 | Red Dwarf. It's a British Sci-Fi comedy that's had a few runs since 1988. They just finished airing Series 12. It's hard to explain the show without spoiling a few episodes, but it was funny enough for Patrick Stewart to become a fan right as he was about to call his lawyer to sue them for copying Star Trek. |

| Uglyface2 12/14/17 7:32:52 PM #1 | I posted that I'd won a Carolina Reaper chip from Paqui last month. (Those unfamiliar: http://paqui.com/onechipchallenge/ ) It came, I ate it. Yes, it's hot. I teared up and got a runny nose. The people who whoop and scream and flip their arms around are either wimps or just overselling it. But it's hot, and it lingers. As you can imagine, the burning happens at your lips, your gums, your tongue, and your throat. Worth mentioning that it's also sweet, just like the Internet descriptions say. The flavor is fleeting, though, so it's not like eating a candy bar. |
