I agree with them on both statements. I dont think lootboxes are gambling, but it is something that hasnt been defined, at least not by Congress. Its the same as buying a blind deck of cards such as Pokmon or Magic. If the former is gambling, then so is the latter. I dont think thats a jump people want to make.

I also dont think that praising gambling laws because it suits your fancy for the moment, is a good idea either. People should be entitled to spend their money however they want, with very few exceptions, gambling not being one of them.

If the exact odds of getting exact cards was listed it wouldn't feel as scam like. I've yet to see this though.

So glad this has finally caught up. I was a religious Madden player up until 5 or so years ago when Ultimate team is where all their resources went. Anyone unfamiliar with that game mode.

It's pretty much pay to win. They turn players into cards and you open packs. Your cards compose the team you play with online. I remember being into it the first year because I had an online friend that would hook me up with his doubles.

Not kidding, he was a little kid who had rich parents. In the end I actually ended up selling these virtual cards on eBay. Made over a thousand dollars. Pretty sure eBay put a stop to that nonsense but that was the breaking point. No more madden here.

Game balance isn't a nebulous concept. It means making it so most strategies/weapons/items/etc. are roughly equally viable in their own ways. Certain situations will favor different things, but when a small minority of things dominate most situations, you have a broken game.

The people who say MW2 was their favorite are pretty much guaranteed to have been the people abusing stuff like Marathon+Lightweight+Commando, dual 1887s, grenade launcher+One Man Army, the M16A4, the UMP45 with a suppressor (which was glitched to have infinite range, always being a 2-shot kill with SP), and drop-shotting.

The game also sucked because of how many freaking killstreak rewards were always cluttering the sky. Once you were past the 2 minute mark it was a 50/50 chance of death if you stepped outside.

I just remembered another cheap tactic. Running around at insane speed holding a care package. Kind of sucked though wasting a killstreak slot when every match was a nuke race.

I remember knowing several spots at the spawn of matches on domination in which you simply shot the noobtube into the sky at the initial flag reloading one man army. The other team would be unable to cap and by the time the opposing team would give up, your harrier/chopper gunner were reading to get you that nuke.
