Sorry if I ruffle too many anime fan feathers over here but, how is he wrong, though? About the character design.

Because it says more about him than the people he's criticizing. Ask yourself this: would that honestly be the first thing you thought of when you see that character?

He's criticizing the character design, which is important in..everything. And yeah, the character in that picture is of an incredibly generic, stereotypical design. I wouldn't sit there and think about all of those points because I'd get bored of doing that, but I'd roll my eyes before scrolling onward. With the points laid out like he does, yeah, I'd agree with every one of them about that design.

Like I said, it hits too close to home. It seems that people feel attacked by criticism like that.

And if he charges at me, I will have ample opportunity to land a heavy, downward swing. If that doesn't hit the head rendering him unconscious, it hits neck or shoulder and still handicaps him. So I would favor the bat man if both fighters are skilled enough. Of course if it's a surprise attack I would favor the knife man, but that's adding extra rules to the hypothetical.

How is the guy with the bat keeping his distance, exactly? It's not like you can backpedal anywhere near as quickly as you can lunge at somehow.

By striking light blows if the opponent steps into range? A light blow from a bat anywhere on your body will hurt like hell.
If you're rushing in, you're opening yourself to a heavy AF blow. I don't see how a downward strike could be stopped by holding up your arm. Head or clavicle breaks.
Essentially the whole fight will break down into a waiting game with some feints and distance play. Knife guy probably wins if he's good at throwing knives though.

You're missing the point. The point I'm making is that depression is a disorder, it's not something that anyone can just stop doing. Proper care and treatment is needed. Much like how if you're starving and you have no food, you can't just eat. It's out of your hands.

And he's getting proper care and treatment. :v I've been following his posts on here for a long ass time. Don't you remember his recent topic about anti-depressants? But like I said, it takes some effort on the person's part. Actually tracking your food would go a long way towards helping him.

But instead he'd rather just drop out of school. Do you see where my frustration is coming from? He literally gave himself diabetes. He got tested not long ago and found out he was at risk of it. Did he do anything to address that risk though? Of course not. In a year he'll probably make a topic about how he had to get a toe removed. :v

You don't need to deal 9999 HP damage. You need to keep the distance. With no protective gear, a light bat blow will still hurt like hell no matter where it lands.
