Now I'm looking for a Piplup.

Nothing special. Just a plain ol' regular Piplup.

If anybody has it, I'm willing to trade for any of what I've already listed.

I'm building up my eggs to transfer to Ultra Sun/Moon, and I wanted to use A-Geodude for this run.

I've got these for trade.

-Slush Rush A-Sandslash
-Snow Warning A-Vulpix
-Regenerator Mareanie
-Some Beast Ball Beldums
-2 North American Shiny Silvally Codes

I've already tried the trade boards, but it's too busy and my topic easily gets lost in the shuffle.

I know some of you guys play it, so I'm hoping I have better chances here.

Holy hell, Murata is a GOD of mangaka.

https://twitter.com/NEBU_KURO/status/929834133106200577

Roughly translated, the tweet is saying that the next chapter of the One Punch Man manga, will have 125 PAGES

That's almost half an entire tankoubon's total pages. In ONE CHAPTER. That's insane.

Especially considering the last chapter had 61 pages, and he did that one in 5 DAYS.

Of course, he might just end up using most of those pages to do his infamous keyframe style again.

js8uQD8

4QAxr2C

UiMJQKW

And honestly I'd be okay with it.

The main concern I have is that he might go into a very long hiatus after this.

I'm usually salty about how mangas and anime end cause they hardly ever end in a good way. I don't remember not liking the Negima ending though. But I don't recall it being good.

Wouldn't the ending being and alternate timeline since then things can work out better than what the ending was?

I can understand how that could be upsetting, but I love UQ Holder and Negima too much to let that upset me XD

To be fair, the mangaka did take the time to make short end panels for each character in the epilogue, so there were some loose ends tied up at elast.

But it really was just a rushjob of an ending. The manga had been building up for this climactic fight between Nagi and Negi for literally years, and then it suddenly cuts it off and shows everything all fine and normal, without so much as an acknowledgement of what happened.

Bah, it's useless to get into this now anyways. What matters now is that Negima fans finally got the ending they always wanted.

...

Speaking of endings though, Jitsu wa Watashi wa is ending in 2 chapters!

And really, it so refreshing and rare to see a manga end on its own terms. No axe, or rushed ending, no sudden asspull or plot twist (I love Emilia anyone?), just a very satisfying victory lap showcasing the wonderful moments the readers have had with the series, and highlighting all the ways the characters have grown over the years.

It really is a different experience when reading a good manga you know is going to end. You want to see the payoff for all the time and emotions you've invested in the characters and their world; yet at the same time, you just want the manga to last for just a few more chapters, because you have invested so much of yourself in the story that it's hard to let go.

I forgot UQ Holder was planning on going monthly when I stopped reading it. Now's it's monthly and I get nice long chapters! One of them had lots of loli goodness in it. But the best part has been the Negima flashbacks to events that happened after the Negima manga ended that I have been wanting to see for years now. It's glorious!!!

I mean, yeah, sure it's great to finally have some closure on what happened in Negima.

But I'm still salty about the fact that it wasn't there in the first place. Like, seriously, one of the most disappointing endings I've ever read.

Also, there's the fact that it doesn't really matter since it technically happened in an alternate timeline from the one in UQ holder. And I remember reading something that the author considers the UQ holder timeline, the canon timeline, so yeah... it's basically one giant fanservice/fanfiction thing.

Was using an S3 all the way until its circuits got too worn out and it kept losing its charge.

Seriously, for the last month, it would lose like 1% battery life every 30 seconds while browsing the internet.

Now, I've got a (relatively) new phone!

Got some questions though.

What's a good adblocker for android? Even though it uses chrome, it doesn't allow for addons like ublock (Which is a stupid design choice).

Also, I already disabled all the apps that I don't need, but it still kinda loses battery too quickly for my tastes, so I was thinking whether I should root it to get rid of all the bloatware and install a proper adblocker.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_frying

The English expression deep-fried is attested from the early 20th century;[4] "fried chicken" is from 1832.[5]

Frying food in olive oil is attested in Classical Greece from about the 5th century BCE.[6] The late Roman cookbook of Apicius (c. 400), appears to list the ancient Romans' first use of deep frying to prepare Pullum Frontonianum, a chicken dish.[7] The practice of deep frying spread to other parts of Europe and Arabia in the following centuries. Deep-fried foods such as funnel cakes arrived in northern Europe by the 13th century,[8] and deep-fried fish recipes have been found in cookbooks in Spain and Portugal at around the same time.[9] Falafel arrived in the Middle East from population migrations from Egypt as soon as the 14th century.[10][11][12] The deep frying of food in Japan was likely introduced by Portuguese the 16th century.[13][14] Evidence of potato frying can be found as early as the late 17th century in Europe.[9]

Modern deep frying began in the 19th century with the growing popularity of cast iron, particularly around the American South which led to the development of many modern deep-fried dishes.[13] French fries, invented in the late 18th century, became popular in the early 19th century western Europe.[15] Doughnuts were invented in the mid-19th century,[16] with foods such as onion rings,[17] deep-fried turkey,[18] and corn dogs[19] all being invented in the early 20th century. In recent years, the growth of fast food has expanded the reach of deep-fried foods,[20] especially French fries.

Only 3 chapters left until the end.

Here's a treat for you To-Love-Ru fans!

So in celebration for TLR's 10 year anniversary, a bunch of mangaka came together and drew characters in their style, and compiled it into one book.

Here it is! (The site is in french, but you can still see the illustrations are their labels pretty easily)

Anybody here fans of Konosuba?

Turns out the author also wrote a manga called Kemono Michi. It's another isekai story only this time, it's a luchador who got transported to another world.

...

And the first thing he did was give the princess a german suplex.

https://imgur.com/a/dhO74

Yes, that is literally the first 4 pages of the manga.

Yes, it is amazing.

Haven't found any translations yet, but it's getting some attention on reddit, so hopefully some team will pick it up.

Let me just clarify for the wall of text I posted last time.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy both To-Love-Ru and Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san. Both mangas have superb character designs and likable characters, and each one has their own good points over the other.

I might just be burnt out on Rito's shenanigans over the years so Yuuna-san feels like a breath of fresh air. If Yuuna-san was published first, my opinions might be vastly different than what they are now.

I liked Momo even more towards the end simply due to her coming to terms with her true feelings. I'm still curious how the author is going to complete the series, harem, forget about everyone else and go with Haruna <_< (which I believe he'll regret since he'll miss everyone), or he's abandonded by all of the girls for his indecisive behaviour then killed by Yami AKA school days route :P.

YoukaiSlayer posted...
Pretty sure the ending they are headed towards is harem route. Especially with some of them actually trying to create one for him.

See, this is why I consider Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san as the better "harem" manga than TLR.

In TLR, the harem is pretty much forced on Rito, and it's pretty obvious that that's how its gonna end despite the main protagonist's own wishes. (And it's also the only way the author can write Lala back into the main romance after systematically making every effort to forget about her entire character growth in the original series, in Darkness). Also, some girls clearly have a higher standing in regards to their place in the "possible end partner for Rito" list than others. Can you honestly say that you'd be satisfied with an ending that had Rito end up with that one blonde friend or that gender bender alien, over Lala, Momo or Haruna?

In Yuuna-san, there's no big sign or flag that says "We're gonna have a harem ending." Which makes it better in a sense, because now the mangaka has to write the MC AND the girls in a way to make them deserve a harem ending.

And he has done just that. Fuyuzora is honestly the best example of what a harem MC should be. Kind and respectable, slightly dense (show me a rom/com MC who isn't) but not so oblivious that he can't recognize that all the girls have honest feelings for him; plus, he has a definite goal that he is working towards that solidifies his character and defines his choices and actions. (I seriously cannot for the life of me remember what Rito's end goal was, other than to get with Haruna) In addition to that, he properly pays attention to every one of the girls (as evidenced by the fact that he game every one of them personalized White Day gifts), and does his best to communicate and maintain actual relationships with them, rather than getting forced into them, or quite literally stumble into them like Rito.

Which brings me to what I enjoy most in Yuuna-san. Every girl has an equal chance of a happy end with the MC.

The mangaka has done a superb job of showing each girl's unique character and, more importantly, growth in both their personal struggles and in their relationship with the MC. It's not often that you can say in a manga that, were it to end in the next chapter with ____ (girl), the majority of the fans would be okay with it. Because, despite the many "___ is best gril" arguments you can make in this manga, no one can say that one girls deserves it more than the other.

And paradoxically, that's what makes it truly deserving of a harem end. Because, even if your favorite girl wins in the end, you have grown attached to the others and you would want to see them be happy too. This is the main similarity between TLR and Yuuna-san. There really is no other way for everyone to be happy in the end other than a harem ending, but the main difference is, Yuuna-san deserves it.

They are about to go into that forest now

Yup. I even go to the main translator's site now just to see it as soon as it's live. (which just means that I just go to r/manga and check from time to time)

And yeah, I feel like the high stakes tension has plateaued a bit since their escape, but that's to be expected since this arc is more about exploration and world building. Although to be fair (chap. 61 spoilers) the tension has ramped back up again since the dude is trying to find a way to kill them in the forest. But I feel like this is just a sort of disguised "training arc" and the dude is gonna have a sort of redemption moment where he reconsiders his opinions on the kids, or outright saves them in the end.

Finished aho girl. Every episode was hilarious but also stupid. I feel like it's a nice show to consume in small pieces. Also playing dragons dogma:dark arisen. I've played and quit regular DD a few times cause I just got bored half way through after I got skills and levels and the game became a cake walk but apparently the dark arisen stuff is harder. I made sure to start in hard mode since I already feel like the game is too easy. I might need to play solo as well since having pawns is so far making the early stuff a cake walk. Ranged is OP as hell. Going for assassin when I can change classes and I'll probably just sit in that class for the whole game (or at least until I want some other augments).

If you want a challenge, why not do a solo mage run?

Sure, the mage spells are OP, but you won't have time to cast them without pawns to distract stuff away from your squishy body.

I mean just...

Plus, it actually has a likable MC and all the girls have such wonderfully fleshed out characters and personalities, and it's pretty badass with the action scenes when it wants to be.

What's more, it's getting a booth at Jump Festa this year, which means there's a VERY good chance that it'll get an anime!

I mean, isn't the main purpose of a retainer is to slowly apply pressure on your teeth and gums to reshape them?

Just guessing since I don't know much about retainers but, sensitive gaping gum wound + object that applies pressure to gums = no bueno.

I still don't understand how to prevent dry sockets or how to treat them :(

Basically what SushiSquid already said.

Don't suck on anything during the first few weeks, since that creates negative pressure in your mouth and might dislodge the blood clot.

Also, don't drink or eat anything too hot, since that might also dissolve the blood clot. (This is where I fucked up. I had hot soup for dinner like a day after the surgery. Little did I know, I was melting the blood clot. 2 days later, I woke up to HORRIBLE pain in my mouth).

Basically, don't do anything that might irritate or agitate the site too much.

If you DO get dry sockets, inform your dentist/oral surgeon IMMEDIATELY.

Pain meds WON'T be enough to deal with it (trust me). And there isn't really anything the dentist can do to treat it, they can just dull the pain for a few hours.

For that they'll give you a special clove oil based ointment that you have to apply to the site. It basically numbs ALL feeling in that area for a few hours. It also tastes nasty and is caustic enough to put blisters on your tongue if you apply too much.

SO yeah, better to be super careful and take proper care.

OHHHHHHH!

Latest My Hero Academia chapter is hype af!

We finally get confirmation about Eri's quirk; looks like she can "rewind" a person's time (Orihime much?). She still can't control it though.

But still, damn, Deku is one masochistic hero. As soon as he heard he gets a free pass for 100% One For All, he just goes and takes it!

Taking bets on which body part gets severely injured next. My money's on his arms finally blowing out.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out as well, about 2 months ago.

Make sure you take proper care so you won't get dry sockets.

I got those and it was just THE WORST.

OH MY GOD. I literally couldn't sleep some nights because there was so much throbbing pain in my mouth.

Not even the opiate level pain meds helped that much.

I mean, yeah, a smaller resolution would make ANYTHING harder to read.

I don't think that's a fault of the typesetters though.

even when Kefka is a god, he is still defeated by warriors with normal weapons like someone mentioned already. if they can do it so can Joker

FF characters in general are well beyond that of a average human. and terra isn't exactly human. half human to be exact. but i'm betting the average FF character could hold their own if not beat batman. let alone the joker.

Batman has defeated both Superman and Darkseid, are you telling me that the average Final Fantasy character is stronger than Superman?

Seeing as how most FF characters can cast magic, and Superman is vulnerable to magic, then it is very likely that they can put up a reasonable fight against supes.

Also, on the topic of "normal people" beating Kefka, the characters in FFVI had the help of espers and their magicite to power them up, well above normal humans.

ok yeah I thought it said something completely different lol

remember to keep forging up weapons tho

How do you get more ingots for weapon forging? I don't want to use the one I have and not have anymore <_<

Forge up the cheapest weapons with the easiest to get materials then break them down.

Haven't tried it personally since I haven't started yet, but that's what all the veterans suggest.

This is not how sound works. If the bullet is going faster than sound than it literally doesn't matter how fast korosensei can move. There is no sound for him to hear because it hasn't gotten there yet. Same with the smell and if his smell detection range is really only 1 km than it'd be relatively easy to snipe him since shots have been made from over 1.5 miles away.

Yeah, that part in the manga always bothered me too. I think he only managed to avoid getting sniped since he knew where the snipers were and he could see the bullets travelling to him. At least, that's my generous handwaving away of that bit of inconsistency.

The chapter I just read of Golden Kamuy has 2 panels that were undeniably softcore porn. I'd show them, but I'd rather not risk it. How does that get published in weekly manga magazines? Both panels had implied intercourse like a sex scene in a R rated movie, and one I guess had technically silhouettes of nipples.

Nice, this is getting animated right, not talking specifically about the scene, but the show.

The person that made Fight Ippatsu Juuden chan seems to be a fan of pee lol.

Fun fact, he's the same dude who's making Kiss x Sis, and there's a character in that who's sole defining trait is that she's into pee play.

Oh definitely, Assassination Classroom relies on some pretty heavy suspension of disbelief. But if you can manage that, it's a pretty fun read/watch.

YoukaiSlayer posted...
Those bullets are super sonic, aka they travel faster than sound. Smell can be entirely controlled by firing from a sealed artificial vacuum since smell needs air to travel.

Most bullets travel at around Mach 2 -3. Koro-sensei's supposed top speed is Mach 20 (I say supposed since if you calculate his later feats he easily surpasses Mach 35). Plus, it was shown that he can smell humans and metals from around a kilometer away. At that distance, he can definitely hear the bullet before it reaches him.

YoukaiSlayer posted...
Heck they could probably kill him with some kind of laser which would obviously move at the speed of light and thus be completely undetectable until it hits you.

End of manga spoilers:
Funnily enough, you're completely right. One of his greatest weaknesses later on in the series, is a special light that renders him completely immobile. Also, by the final arc, the government had cooked up an orbital laser, and a special anti-sensei light grid/net around the school in order to finally finish him off.

What if they just snipe (With silenced rifles) him from 10 (or 50) different angles while he's taking a nap or having a picnic? No matter how fast he is, surely he can't react to something he isn't aware of?

If that doesn't work, what about just traping him in a room filled with bombs or something? I can't help shaking the feeling that if the government actually puts their minds to it, stoping him shouldn't be that hard...

They actually do the things you said, and he still manages to escape.

You have to remember that "silenced" rifles don't actually mean "silent." Koro-sensei can and does sense when they go off (with a combination of his super-smell and hearing), and considering his feats, can easily dodge them if he wanted to.

Also, about the government involvement, you have to remember that he basically threatened to blow up the earth if he didn't get to do his little class experiment, and he already showed that he can do just that with the moon. Plus, the government has no idea of what the true scope of his powers are. For all they know, he can just explode the moment he realizes the government broke their promise; they can't risk that, so they follow along for now.

To be fair though, the government does do some stuff in later chapters, you might not have reached those yet.

I also read the first 6 or so chapters of Assassination Classroom, but damn, These kids are stupid! They don't seem to know anything about the-element-of-surprise & they've let atleast 10 perfectly set up assassination opportunitys slip right under there noises! Nothing really makes sense in this series, if the whole planet is trying to kill this guy, they'd succeed. They wouldn't need a bunch of (literal) reject minors to do it. Not to mention, if the world is ending in less then a year unless they kill this guy, why are they spending so much time & energy on things that don't in any way contribute to killing the guy!?

Just with traps alone you could shut this guy down...

You'll see why traps or ambushes have no effect on the teacher the more you read the series.

AssClass is another one of those mangas that I consider one of the better examples of having an OP character be fun and engaging and not be a total Mary Sue.

Alright allow me to perv out for a little bit because damn... I feel kinda dirty... >_>

My taste in hentai is pretty vanilla for the most part. I don't really like orgies or gangbangs or any of that kind of stuff, and I ESPECIALLY DON'T like NTR stuff.

Even then... that Mizuryu Kei Land hentai is... pretty top tier. The animation in that one is some of the best I've ever seen.

I usually only watch uncensored series most of the time, but even with the censoring, it beats out all of the ones I've seen by a mile.

But man, it really put my tastes to the test, since it had pretty much everything that I DON'T like in a hentai, but it managed to "entertain" me regardless.

..

..

Gah. I need to read some Yotsubato or some other fluffy series to clean out my dirty dirty brain.

Do you mean the Untold series? There was an announcement made a while back that there would be one last EO game to come on the 3DS and it's generally believed that it's gonna be Untold 3, since it's the last game from the first 3 DS Etrian games that haven't been remade.

In any case, I'm super excited for this game.

I think my favorite from this Dragoon.

I mean, shields, heavy armor, and cannons? What's not to love?

I'm still on an old japanese music journey because of the manga I've read, and I gotta say, my trip through youtube has taken a few unexpected turns.

Like this video of Bad Apple from Touhou being played on traditional instruments.

I love it whenever modern music gets played through classical instruments, but I'm even more of a fan of classical instruments being played in modern songs, which led me back to the Yoshida Brothers, and their awesome shamisen based rock music.

https://www.vevo.com/watch/yoshida-brothers/rising/JPSR80500062

And somehow I wound up on the 2Cellos - Thunderstruck video for some reason.

All in all, it's been a pretty fun hour.
