Elder Scrolls 6: Thalmor
You play as a character whose family is taken by Thalmor agents in the middle of the night. You spend the game trying to find your family while serving as a mole for the Thalmor to root out rebellion in their territory. Eventually you throw off their yoke and gather a disparate army of curved sword warriors, different guilds, khajit, and beaten imperials to take it to the agent and throw down the Thalmor before they destroy the world.

-All races from previous games allowed, because limiting races at this point in the series would be dumb.
-spellcrafting comes back.
-no structure building. You are resisting a Thalmor force that can teleport/scry you at will. Mobility would be necessary. Maybe a caravan building system?
-true high fantasy. Explore the nomadic jungles of Valenwood. Visit the floating towers of Summerset Isles, cast spells that can rip open holes to the outer planes.
-speaking of which, have a whole system of outer planes that you can explore to find artifacts to use against the Thalmor.

I don't trust Bethesda to do a game of that size well. I'd rather they just go with a single province and really flesh it out.

Hopefully the death of radiant quests. I understand that you can't expect every side quest to end up being good, but I'd rather have more stuff worth doing than just more stuff to do.

Also, if they're going to include settlement building, I just hope they don't use it as an excuse to make every pre-built settlements in the game dull. I don't have a whole lot of interest in settlement building. I heard this was an issue in Fallout 4. And while I never got far enough into that game to see for myself, I definitely believe it.

looks like a good game but major nintendo franchise games always get way over-inflated scores, so you can't really go by critic reviews. look at super mario sunshine, twilight princess, skyward sword, etc it got 10s across the board and then a few months later everyone was going "wait... i don't really like this game"

TP did get that 8.8 though. And while people have mixed opinions of TP and SS today, I think most people nowadays think very highly of Sunshine.

I don't put any value at all into any reviews. But for Odyssey in particular I think they're even more irrelevant. If you liked the 3D Mario games of the past, you'll probably like this one too.

potentially Breath of the Wild if Nintendo keeps going further down that road and away from classic Zelda design

I don't mean to be antagonizing or want to start an argument by saying this, but do I find statements like this ironic, considering that BotW is closer in spirit and design to the original Legend of Zelda than nearly all the games in the series that came after.

Yeah but if any game really defined the series as a whole, it would probably be OoT. And LttP for the 2D games. I imagine most people think of those games first when someone mentions "classic Zelda".

tbf, GTAV had an amazing campaign; what suffered was potential single-player DLC.

if the rest of Rockstar's titles follow GTAV's model, then they'll still be quality titles with online portions that I'll likely not pay attention to

GTA V was my first GTA game and I loved it. I knew GTA IV's DLC was highly praised, so I expected GTA V to get some quality single player DLC too. Really disappointing what happened with that.

She literally had no purpose in Sub Space Emissary and was only one of three characters to not be in the story.

How is that relevant? Story doesn't mean shit in Smash. And I say that as someone who loved SSE.

It's an odd choice, but a personal one.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

I've always felt Nintendo should have gone the opposite direction with Bowser and made him more menacing as opposed to less menacing. But instead of giving him storyline victories over Mario and increasing his ferocity, they rolled with the notion of him always losing and made him a Looney Tunes antagonist. If anyone should be foil for Mario, it should be Wario.

I still play the classics to this day, but that was enough to make me stop playing the new Mario games going forward.

Yeah but was Bowser ever really menacing prior to that? To be honest, thinking about it, the closest he ever gets to that is in the first Paper Mario. I mean he nearly kills Mario at the start of the game, and the main hurdle you're supposed to overcome is his invulnerability granted to him by the Star Rod.

Bowser shines as a character in his design and I suppose his persistence as a villain. I don't think he was ever meant to be like Ganondorf.

Now that they are attempting to fix Master Chief Collection again I wonder if I should consider biting the bullet and buying Halo 5 I told myself I would never buy a halo game again after what they did to MCC

It's worth it. Just go into the campaign with low expectations. The actual gameplay of the campaign is alright. There are some nice looking levels. The story is a huge mess though.

Multiplayer is where Halo 5 really shines. It also has its flaws here and there, but many of them have been ironed out by the numerous free updates they've released. Although if sprinting and all the other movement options don't feel right, it just may not be your type of game.

Also bear in mind that Halo 5 takes up a massive amount of hard drive space.

All I want is for them to fix the appearance rate of Halo 3 in matchmaking. In BTB, Halo 3 will always occupy one of the three voting slots, and due to it being the most popular game, I end up playing it way more often than the other three Halo games. Even if this does get fixed, its mostly the fault of the player base. The few times you do get to play Halo CE and 2, there are a large number of quitters, people who are afk, and people just fucking around.

6/10 I suppose? It's not bad but never really stuck out either. I remember playing KOTOR though and it felt like Taris was the whole game for me. I reset my playthroughs frequently when I was younger for no good reason, so it took me like 3 or 4 playthroughs of that whole beginning sequence plus some Taris to finally get into the real game. To this day I still haven't even completed at least half of KOTOR. Did everything on Kashyyyk, maybe 75% of the shit on Korriban, and only just touched down on Tatooine and Manaan.
