Why?

The shrimp they use are very cheap, and for the price (think min is $18 and it's higher in some other areas), you can get 2 pounds of Argentine shrimp from safeway (less if on sale).

Fresh from the deli (not buying a 2 pound bag of frozen) is usually 10$ a pound, but can be gotten as low at $8 on sale sometimes.

2 pounds is enough to feed 4 people pretty easily with a side dish, 2 people would be pretty full (like 20 large shrimp each), just eating the shrimp, and 1 person could freaking make themselves sick eating a full 2 pounds (but it's so yummy you just might do it).

They are fast and easy to cook, deviened already, and taste more like lobster than shrimp.

Biggest problem is you can't cook a whole 2 pounds at once in 1 pan, so you either have to use 2 pans, or do it in 2 batches.

Waaay taster then red lobster, cheaper, and available year round.
