I liked the GBC one well enough, probably helped that I loved running the Ancient Cave back in the day on Lufia 2 (unlocking "Gift" mode was the best) so the randomized dungeons was a reminder of that.

Incidentally, said love for the Ancient Cave would lead me to the discovery of the "roguelike" genre of games years later when I got access to the internet, or how in turn I had actually played such a game *before* Lufia 2's Ancient Cave and didn't even realize it. (Fatal Labyrinth for the Genesis.)

one cool idea that I personally would like is the star wars mmo, The Old Republic. both factions in the game have exactly 4 classes. get 4 people together, one of each class, and then go through all the stories together as a party. Nobody has ever done this on youtube that i can find. also, Old Republic is now free to play.

Not a bad idea actually, might be worth watching just to see their reactions to each other's choices during dialogue. (Light-side and dark-side sabotaging during flashpoints ahoy.)

Only catch I can think of is that I don't believe you can view each other's companion conversations on their ships (only your own companions on your ship). Some of the romance story-lines alone can be lulzy enough when viewed by yourself, now imagine having an audience of 3 with you while you try to get your mack on or bomb out completely.

Thus far the only games I've dealt with that have loot (and by extension, gamble) boxes are:

Heroes of the Storm
Smite
Paladins

With the exception of HotS boxes sometimes giving you actual heroes (which you can still freely earn in-game with gold and not just some limited cash shop-style currency), they're all limited to cosmetic items that provide no benefit in single or multiplayer, so I'm not worried about any unfair advantages.

The question does inevitably rise though about "how does one realistically collect everything" or "you're still being denied some manner of content behind RNG and real money". The former I find is unavoidable since in the case of all these games, there were "limited" time items that will never ever be available again (and don't even get me started on their "referral rewards"). It is literally impossible to "100%" a collection no matter what you do or how much you spend so to that end, no sense busting your balls or wallet trying to get everything that *is* still available. Admittedly, yes, I hate "pre-order only" style goodies as well, but all that's succeeding in doing is making sure I never bother with them at all. These companies want extra scratch for extra goodies? They'll need to provide me a means to buy them on *my* time, not theirs, putting a time limit on things just makes my wallet shut like a vice, not go into spender-panic. (IE: The exact opposite of what they want.)

For the latter, it didn't take me long to realize that even *if* I had 100% of everything, I couldn't possible *use* it all at once anyway due to the standard equip limits in every game, or how honestly, I wouldn't *want* to use everything because there's just some cosmetics I wouldn't care to own or hell, entire characters I don't care for so my interest in collecting any of their cosmetics is virtually non-existent. In contrast, yes, there's characters I certainty would like to have everything possible or would regularly rotate cosmetics for, but the before-mentioned "I won't jump through flaming hoops for artificially scarce items" still applies. As much as I love D.Va, Bastet, and Skye, I'm now blowing hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on some "buy now or lose it forever" skin. Quite the contrary actually, I dare say them getting one might be a factor in my quitting their respective games, it's the principle of the thing that I finally feel like I was being "targeted" (even if it's my own favoritism/waifuism getting the best of me), and so by fault of their own ill-will practices, Blizzard and Hi-Rez are the only ones left playing with fire here.

As it currently stands, I haven't spent money on any of these games despite how long and how much I've played them, and despite how part of me wants to support them on some level because I've been nothing but a "free-loader" otherwise. At *best* I might have put down money for Smite and Paladins "all-in-one" god/champion packs, if not for the fact that I already own all the gods/champions I want to play as, or how I remain weary of Hi-Rez *especially* compared to Blizzard when it comes to releasing limited time skins they expect you to shell out lots of money for (so the odds of them finally pushing me is always present). I know it sounds bad to maintain such a fair-weather amount of attachment to these companies and their games, or to remain so stingy when I've undeniably gotten "my money's worth" of entertainment out of them, but to be fair, they damaged any sense of trust first and keep trying to double-dip, and it's clear in all these years that they don't care much to change their bad habits.

As much as I love video games as a whole, I still need to guard my heart and my pocketbook, same as any other relationship.

I'm not even joking, this is literally the kind of mentality I get from some folks around here in my low-income/adjustable rent apartment complex. Everyone here with kids has 4 *minimum*. The only people here without kids are the elderly (who are instead visited by their numerous grandchildren instead), or single men who haven't managed bag them a single woman yet and start popping out spawn. I'm actually an outlier, I'm one of the only dudes around here of breeding age who *isn't* trying to hop on that particularly train ...though with every passing day I can't find a job, I start wondering more and more just how much child-induced welfare pays out, or if having a baby would sucker a potential employer into giving me priority where they ignored me before.

The funniest part though; Which side of the political aisle is the most apprehensive by the idea of wage increases/job expansion and sex education/planned parenthood to remedy this situation? Trick question; It's both. Connies love making the mess, libbies love exploiting it, and neither actually cares about fixing it whether out of personal malice or benefit.
