Prototype

This is a flawed game. That's not to say it wasn't fun, but it was rather disappointing in many ways.

The Good:
- Spider-Man 2: The Movie The Video Game. It scratched that itch of flying around Manhattan and running up the Empire State Building and looking for silly collectibles in obscure areas.
- I also like being able to ride around in a tank or a helicopter and getting a different perspective when exploring sometimes. Found so many landmark orbs from the ease of flying around kind of idly.
- It tried at a decent story. For some reason, I've got Twin Peaks: The Return on the brain when dealing with Web of Intrigue stuff. There are elements of something kind of cool.
- Whiplash grabbing helicopters and hijacking them. I spent a stupid amount of time in later missions catching helicopters instead of just throwing cars at them to destroy them and complete easy objectives.

The Meh:
- Combat is not nearly as cool as it looked in Game Informer ten years ago. Everything feels so samey and the badguys are all either easy fodder or armored tanks you shouldn't be attacking up close anyway that I barely used any of the powers in combat. And since staying in disguise is the best defense against bullet hell, why bother?
- Controls are wonky. A lot of my frustrations came from input lag, grabbing targetting, and camera discoordination.
- The story is kind of a mess. Characters appear for a few missions in cutscenes and then are never seen again. Big bad guys are confronted with little fanfare and disposed of almost as quickly. The twists just seem to be thrown in for some semblance of a story? Revelations don't feel shocking. They just feel like, 'Oh. Okay? Sure.'

The Bad:
- It's really either just the city or a big room. There's nowhere else to go. It gets very samey, and nothing you do affects anything. I spent an hour or so taking down Hives and Bases before realizing it doesn't matter because they'll respawn after you move on and take down another, and then they'll change places haphazardly every time you get a new mission.
- There's a promise of a better game early on that... it feels bad once you realize it's never gonna be more than what it is, but if you just play it like a big, 3D, open world '90s hack and slash arcade beat-em-up... it's not so bad. But that's really all it is and nothing more, and it's kind of disappointing.

Evoland II (Steam)

Bought it last year and had a good time until a platforming section and my lack of a graphics card caused... lots and lots of headaches. I had to abandon it, but picked it back up a few days ago and played it to 100%. Loved it. The story was much better than expected, I got to care about the characters, and while it was 'references the game,' it was also its own thing and did it incredibly well (unlike, say, Punch Club which is just a shitty grindcore with bad gameplay and references as the only selling point, and they weren't even good). Really wish I could've done more to help, but I was floored by some of things that happened. Highly recommend. Took about 20 hours.

Just watched Die Hard for the dozenth time, and still there are new things to catch!

Spoilers for those still who haven't watched, =P

- The reason John McClane escapes is because the terrorist is distracted by the couple having sex. They walked in on John and Holly five minutes prior looking for an empty room!

- When Al Powell first looks at Nakatomi from outside the gas station,
I never noticed you could see the gunfire on top of the roof. Even better, it also looks like helicopter landing pad lights!

- McClane's wheels start turning after he talks to Powell about how him getting out this alive would depend on 'the guy upstairs'. Wait, why was Hans upstairs?

- Gruber's attempts to corral McClane after he learns of Holly's connection are undone by Carl destroying the radio moments earlier.

- John escapes the explosion not because he knew it was about to blow but because the FBI was shooting at him!

- There was ten times more Christmas music and references than I remembered. Seasons Greetings!

There's a lot I've enjoyed so far. The characters are pretty well crafted, the mystery is good, and the ace attorney cases are decently crafted. However, I just don't feel like there's as much of a story or challenge to things as I'd like, though my tune will probably change if I ever finish.

Good but Flawed

Until Zanarkand, a really decent story with some fun characters and cool settings. Battles are tons of fun. However... endgame content is very, very grindy and kind of hollow.

THE HILL - Trump administration sees record first-year staff turnover: report

During the president's time in office, his administration saw a 34 percent turnover rate among senior aides, the newspaper reported, citing a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution who has tracked White House turnover rates over three decades.

According to the analysis, 21 of the 61 senior officials tracked have either resigned, been fired or been reassigned.

The rate of staff turnover during Trump's administration has shown to be higher than that during former presidents' first years in office.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the turnover rate during former President Reagan's first year in office ? which was the next-highest first-year turnover rate in the last 40 years ? was 17 percent in 1981.

So back when I was maybe 10 my younger brother was looking in the backyard at my grandma's and asked who were the dogs that were playing with my grandma's dog, Sasha. She was confused but there were in fact two extra dogs in the backyard that were clearly strays.

So she takes out some food for them. One of the dogs was having none of it and bolted pretty much as soon as my grandma came out. After some time the other dog eventually started eating the food. My grandma decided to keep him (She had recently had to put down her other dog Max as well). We told her that she should name him Buddy after the Buddy in Air Bud since that dog had been a retriever and a stray as well. And that's how Buddy came to live with my grandma.

He never quite broke his habit of running away but he always managed to find his way back on the times that he did get out. He was a bit of a wild one but he was a good dog and the one I remember most of my grandma's dogs (She has had 4 of them and is considering getting another one).

Don't have anything to add but a genuine cool story, bro.

Sounds like an appropriate tier. While I also tend to very much dislike the songs he nominates, I enjoy seeing what he likes and hearing why he likes them, and sometimes find a good surprise or two (I'm positive he got in the top ten of one of my rankings once while all four of his other noms were in the bottom ten to twenty).

I don't understand the appeal of Twilit Battle. It feels like a two-pronged assault on my eardrums, and I accidentally had two Twilits open at the same time for a good ten seconds and thought my brain was turning to mush.

Watched all of Season 1 in a single day a few months back. It's an incredibly well-structured, entertaining, and easy show to just flow along with. The twist at the end was insane, but so perfect and Ted Danson is incredible in his delivery. The endings of every episode are just addictive, too! So many good hooks from the note under the door to "I'm not supposed to be here either" to Adam Scott's arrival to taking off with the train... there's no stopping point!

I also love how despite how good Chidi and Tahani are in compass and deeds, they also show how they would end up in the bad place, but you don't necessarily connect those dots until later. Everything about it is just brilliant.

Ted Danson LITERALLY kicks a puppy into the sun in the first or second episode. But he's Ted Danson and it 'isn't supposed to be there' so its okay, but it's right there! Only bad guys kick puppies!!!
