Unfortunately I think you either need to choose job satisfaction or money. Some people, like myself, are very lucky and have both at their job (I'm a quality engineer) but most people choose one or the other. My reccomendation is to always choose the money. The money can eventually lead you to a job you love AND that can pay well. So maybe try like comp sci? Not sure what your strengths are, or anything about you for that matter lol

I'm not good at recognizing my own strengths. All I know is my interests. What should be my next step? I want to prioritize money, but really need to be happy at work because it's been to affecting my state of mind.

Right right, well there's no rush to choosing a career/college/whatever. I have no idea how old you are, but there is no rush. You gotta find out what you're good at, but i don't know too much about finding strengths or weaknesses for people. I was always good at math, physics, problem solving, etc. So engineering seemed like a good fit and it was. Maybe start basic and write down what you like to do, how you accomplish tasks, thought process, then kind of go from there. Again, not sure how old you are, but maybe see a guidance counselor or something. Having the right state of mind is important to me too, but you need to make money to survive, so it may have to suffer for money...or it may not if you plan correctly

It can make a difference. Where I work if we get a pile of resumes for an opening, generally the people who post their GPA and have a solid one like that will bubble for the top. If we're only budgeting for 5 or 10 candidates for an interview, a good GPA can be make or break for getting in the door.

true that, i know plenty of companies that only even consider you if you have a certain GPA. it can totally make a difference

Started out making 47k, 6 months later landed a job at 75k. Unfortunately a lot of luck is involved, but also the market. Since we just got a new president in the past year and corporations are relatively greedy anymore, finding a job paying a lot is challenging

job market sucks.

Chemistry is a stepping stone degree like Psychology. Unless you're going for a doctorate with chemistry or a masters in some cross-field science, all you have is the ability to work in a lab for just above minimum wage.

Imagine studying for 4 years in a difficult major just to get paid slightly above fast food workers.

An undergraduate chem major has no skills. At that level all they've done is memorize things that can be googled and learned how to do things like balance equations which tools do for you. It means the person has a strong fundamental knowledge and knows their way around a lab, but like I said... they don't have a skill yet. I agree that lab workers deserve more pay for sure, but it's not a high skill job.

pretty much. if you really enjoy chemistry/chemicals that much and don't want to do extra schooling, might as well have been a chemical engineer i guess

Super is pretty great, imo. I'm not a huge fan of the art style though. Like, GT still had that, "gritty" DBZ feel, whereas in super the colors are much more vibrant and glossy. Kind of ruins any tension imo

Yeah idk, this is my first, post college job and I've only been here for 6 months and yet it feels like forever and I've made so many friends here.
