Because Apple. I figured it was because of their desktop OS-they couldn't help themselves by branding everything 'X' and didn't want to wait a year and have someone else use it first.
Also possibly because of the 6 and 7 being very samey and they used it to differentiate the X from the 8 more. Either way, the reason is moot, they just do incomprehensible things sometimes and call it brave or whatever other stupid thing their PR dept comes up with lol

OSX has been out for at least 15 years and they now refer to is as macOS, the rebranding now seems silly

Aww you got bad pho. It should be very flavorful and fragrant broth. I've had bad pho that's watery and salty. The good stuff is worth it... Not many vegetables though

Why do hospitals always have so much unhealthy food?

Like, for real, I hate saying this but one of the best burgers and fries I've had was at a hospital.

hm, must vary a lot. Hospitals that I have been to here only have healthy food. And it;s usually cheap.

but I imagine that with those being government run in a country with single payer healthcare, they have incentive to keep you healthy. And not gouge a captive audience with pricy unhealthy food.

The hospital here has really inexpensive food. Like sandwiches for 2.50. Sometimes I'll grab a snack there if I have other business in the hospital. but you won't find anything fried or overly sugary there at all.

Did a dark soy sauce / ginger / garlic / vegetable stock soak with the soy curls then browned them up. It's really tasty. Glad I tried them out.

You really do have to read all the labels. Was having some salt and vinegar chips and saw it contained milk ingredients (lactose). That was a bit of a shocker. An effective reminder to check even the most innocuous things

Tonight I went out with the folks to a vegan restaurant. They've been one of my favorite places for many years and apparently voted one of the top 10 restaurants in Canada. We had chicken curry, spicy shrimp, and ginger beef. Not pictured are the bean curd drumsticks which were delicious.



The shrimp was so spot on in texture though a bit too doughy

Yeah I've had a really good assortment of vegan food on my trip. Can actually find vegan restaurants. Stir fry, curried sandwiches, all the grilled vegetables, and even some great baked goods. Found soy curls and jackfruit at this hippie market and I'm excited to try them out when I get home!

When I was a boy, there was an empty house just up the hill from my family's. It was rumored a man committed suicide there after being possessed by the devil.

One day, a young woman, Lydia, moved into the house with her infant child. That very night, Lydia was awakened by a loud, heinous hissing sound. She walked to the nursery and there in baby's crib was a snake wrapped around baby's neck, squeezing tighter and tighter. The crib was full of dirt. Baby struggled to free itself from underneath, reaching and clawing, gasping for air.

Embalmed bodies rose from their sarcophagi, lurching toward the baby, for they were mummies. Amongst them was a man, tall, slim. Almost instinctively she turned to her husband.

I can understand ratings tanking for any sitcom at 6 seasons. This show was on for almost a decade by the end of it. It was hard watching Michael be a boss for 6 years so I appreciated the change up but the dynamic was never the same

In season 2 it's really noticeable that the actors are holding back laughter at the weird shit that's being said. Mindy Kaling smiles so much--and she wrote a lot on this show, wow, 26 episodes. The cast plays it more straight as the seasons go on which amps up the awkward.
