Yeah it's a hilarious show and to me it was 60% Michael Scott. After he left I lost interest. The obnoxious things he said and got away with every day. Jim and Pam the second time was a little tiring. The Toby moments are possible the best of the entire series. NO! GOD! NOOOOO! when he returns, lol.

Michael Scott is just an over the top character that generally means well but has a terrible understanding of the world, doesn't notice other peoples' feelings, and executes everything terribly. He is so hostile to Toby. The other characters are good in their own ways, but without Michael bringing them together it was not the same.

Like fuck... Michael dating Pam's mom and then bailing when he found out how old she was, dumping her on her birthday

Add that to the uncomfortable awkward pile

Other than the sexual harassment episode, most of the early seasons were complete garbage. The first season rehashes a lot of stuff from the BBC version but the BBC version did it better. And, as always, Michael Scott is a poor man's David Brent.

Season 1 sucked because it was trying to be a clone. 2 and later improved greatly with some freedom and character development. Seasons 3 4 and 5 were all pretty good overall.

And it was so rubbery. I mean I think that shit will bounce

But I baked that stuff up on to a bad boy lil pizza and it melted up and tasted ok

Almost at 4 weeks now and I've dropped 4KG. I'd like to attribute that to healthy eating but I just haven't been eating all that much. Not eating animal products kind of limits the quick easy to access food.

Really need to figure out my own recipe for veg meatloaf or nonmeat patties.

Yesterday I was out walking around in the evening, pretty long after lunch. I kept smelling meat on grills. It made me extra hungry but also smelled really strong in a not quite good way. Ehhhh. Treated myself to a soy burger and it was not bad.

So far I've really liked stir fry type dishes, curries, sandwiches, and some salads. there are a lot of recipes I have pinned to try later. Having a good deal of success with Indian dishes/store items for vegan eats.

Still not really missing meat. Would like to be able to have yogurt, no vegan yogurt in sight in my town.

I will grant you that. Hot Pockets, heck no. :p

Picked up some Yves veggie burgers in a few varieties. They're not bad, just a bit pricy. As long as you don't think they're meat they hold up on their own as tasty food.

One nice thing about the alternatives: no gristle or random bone shards. I greatly dislike encountering either. Going to need to learn to make my own meat alternatives. The store bought kinds are expensive (but so is meat).

It's also pretty easy so far to cook balanced meals with no meat alternative in it. Good to have the option and variety.

I usually have at least one meal a day that doesn't have meat. Sometimes two.

And my red meat intake is really low but that's still meat so that doesn't matter much.

My problem with not eating animal products at all is that I live for cheese so I have no desire to give that up. :o even if I had a digestive disease that made it painful to eat I think I still would >_>

I used to be fine having no meat with most meals. The shift to no meat at all has helped me find ways to focus on different foods at the centerpiece, rather than meat. And I don't like cheese that much so not a huge loss for me--though it would be nice to have pizza or something. There are some decent vegan cheeses. Nothing I would call good on its own. But they can be fine melted on things. I had some really good vegan pizza in Portland that was still pretty melty and nice.

Don't get me wrong, meat can be delicious, I just feel that my personal enjoyment doesn't justify participating in something that harms my health and supports industries that I am morally against.

I have been eating a lot of lentils which have as much protein as beans (or more). Whole grains have protein. Mushrooms, nuts, seeds... And I have some pea protein powder for smoothies. Easy to get 80g+ in a day with one of those which is much more than needed.

That's something I have been doing a lot... reading all the labels on all the things

That would be a good way to do it. But locally there's not really many options. I don't want to eat red meat and there's no local fish or poultry. For health's sake I am abstaining.

I'll probably end up having to eat something when I visit family or just bring my own meat substitute/food. They do not understand or support plant based eating. So it goes.

I'm encountering more issues with hidden animal products in food. Weird stuff like shellac or whey or beeswax. So when in doubt whole produce is good.
