So I've been watching Ramen Lover Koizumi. The first ep was kinda meh, but it had a couple fun characters and nice animation, so I stuck with it. 2 and 3 were definite improvements, but 4 was probably the worst yet, so I guess I'll drop it now. Pretty bizarre that this managed to get a full anime.

Idol anime and ecchi anime are both pretty bad a lot of times, though there are exceptions of course, and idol shows are definitely more offensive than ecchi in general. Strike Witches and Queen's Blade good times.

The cool thing about GuP is how it doesn't half-ass anything. It doesn't feel like cute girl versions of tank battles, it's full fledged tank battles with cute girls. A lot of cute girl sports shows don't really do that much with the sport, unfortunately. I can only imagine how great Hanayamata would've been if it had as much dancing as GuP had tank battles!

Katana Maidens is likely just one of those shows that roba has realized he likes a lot, and will result in him watching better shows like it, eventually realizing that Katana Maidens itself wasn't that great and that he is just really into those kinds of shows. It's not exactly an uncommon occurrence.

There's not much out there for non depressing all girls fighting shows.

Devilman will almost certainly be my favorite show of Winter. Not guaranteed to be my favorite of the year, but if it had been released in 2017, it would've at least been my #2, so it'll be a good contender.

I remember reading the first book in sophomore year of high school and enjoying it, but I don't really remember much about it. Still have book two on my shelf, but I've been reading light novels that actually have a pulse in America.

It actually got re-licensed? The second book is coming out again next month it seems. Dunno when the third book's coming...?

I actually played Shaq Fu back in the day and didn't think it was that bad? Granted, I probably only played it twenty minutes, but worst game ever seems kinda harsh.

Don't think anything else really comes close...? I bought a PS4 for FFXV and didn't even finish the game for half a year. XIII was pretty disappointing in some ways, but it at least had parts I loved (especially dat soundtrack). XV...didn't.

...oh! Actually! Most disappointing sequel might go to Umineko 6. Again, it had some saving graces, so probably not quite as bad as XV, but holy shit the bad parts were so bad. Why does Featherine exist

Ah, that's fair. I'm definitely not a fan of the artstyle of the anime. The books have the same artist as Katanagatari, and the art for that was freaking amazing, so it sucks that they watered it down for the anime.

Speaking of Monogatari, did anyone here finish Zaregoto? Due to its weird release strategy I kept forgetting about it, but I think I'll watch it now. It's not adapting the best book in the series, but it's pretty good! Would be great if they managed to adapt up to at least book 3, since that one was amazing.

The Panty & Stocking sub was pretty fun with all the Engrish swearing. Show has an awesome soundtrack too. The best parts of the show are really awesome.

I think a fairly small number of people would pick Kobayashi as best girl.

...though checking on MAL, she's the third most favorited? And man, Riko has hardly any favorites? WTF? I think she might've been my personal favorite. Her or Kanna. The cast was great overall though. Elma's the only one I thought was meh I think.

Not at all! Animation is art, and people are allowed to interpret and enjoy it in any way that speaks to them!

If watching something makes me feel bad, that'll generally make me like it less, even if it only makes me feel that way because of how well-made it is. (sadness is not included in this, since I like feeling sad)
