I can't even work out my own opinions on some of the more important issues (complaining about animal cruelty while chowing down on a hamburger). Can't imagine how laws would work in cases like that.

1. Idiots being bad at driving and causing an accident

2. Getting caught in a shooting, likely by some random idiot on drugs

3. Catching the flu with my body already stressed from the worries of how much longer my friends and family can afford to survive under this country's administration, developing pneumonia and just letting it take me so I don't have to worry about any of this crap anymore

Honorable mention: Learning to drive, then swerving to avoid an animal in the road (this would be higher if not for the fact that, y'know, it can't happen if I'm not driving)

Fully conscious and developed animals capable of pain and fear are killed all the time for many reasons. Who cares what happens to some fetuses whose brains haven't even developed enough for any of that yet? Why does their species have to mean anything here? What does matter is whether or not the mother wants that thing in her.

Nah. I have pet parrots, and vets for them are scarce enough as it is, and I get too emotional over animals to be able to do the "take them out back and shoot them" thing when they're sick.

Also I gotta have my internet, and things to do outside of home besides wander around in coyote territory.

I gotta go with both The Nightmare Before Christmas and A Christmas Story. The latter is part of my family's Christmas tradition for a reason.

As much as I don't believe in putting that kind of power in the hands of a single person... with America's health care system, and the way it's constantly in danger of going, my family might really need that million dollars.

Meh, I already eat meat, and probably most of the stuff I own is made with slave labor, so strangers are already unknowingly and involuntarily sacrificing themselves for my benefit all the time. I see no problem with adding one more to that for the sake of saving my pets who I already love and am sworn to protect for the rest of their lives.

Might go to the mall in the evening after most of the other shoppers have cleared out. I've done that a couple times before, and I like it. Nice excuse for fresh evening air as well as a chance at cheap Christmas shopping.

Depends. Do I have close friends/family on the ship? Because if it's just strangers, then screw them. I didn't sign up for a suicide mission.

Making it mandatory would only create even more of a need to protest. Also it's not even real allegiance if people only do it because they have to.

And this helps the existing kids who aren't doing so well... how, exactly?

Imagine how great our country, and the entire world, would truly be if "being a good citizen" was really as easy as mindlessly partaking in the worship ceremony of a piece of cloth for no reason other than the teacher told you to. Then all the adults who do it for reasons they themselves actually understand would also be good citizens. Alas, this is not the case.
