I don't think it's that black and white. I think if the kid is a sociopath then that's one thing, but I also think mental health needs to come into consideration. This country does a poor job of identifying and treating mental disorders, and for some reason people view it as weakness and bad to need psychiatric help or take drugs to treat disorders or even spend time in an institution to get treatment. That said I have a hard time accepting a flat out evil kid getting the death penalty simply because of the age. I'm not against the death penalty entirely, but I just can't see using it on kid.

Something like that would be seen by the rest of the world and it wouldn't go unnoticed.
