Doesn't following the Imperial idiot get you heavy armor immediately? I mean, it saves a little time. :P

Nope, following the imperial idiot definitely restricts you from getting heavy armor until later. The light armor you receive by following Hadvar is stronger than the light armor you get by following Ralof. But the only way to get actual heavy armor at the beginning is by following Ralof and looting it from the captain after you kill her.

Imperial military is stronger and you have a better chance of survival than with some hicks

But the player character doesn't know he/she will be joining the imperial army. Presumably, he/she will be a prisoner again once the confusion is all over.

Hadvar tried to save you but got shut down

All the more reason to believe that the empire is tyrannical and doesn't listen to reasonable folks like Hadvar.

Hadvar tried, weakly, to stop you from being executed.

Doesn't help the fact that the player character would probably be logically thinking that if he/she follows the imperial guy, he/she will most likely be put back into imperial custody after the confusion is over, and back on the chopping block.

And it's not like the Stormcloaks had the moral high ground. Ulfric literally murdered a totally defenseless kid-king for seemingly no reason. Running off with them isn't that much more logical - especially when they openly want to purge Skyrim of other races.

The player character presumably doesn't know about all of this though. But then again, I guess you could role play that your character is well-educated on the current events in Skyrim. It's very possible to do this, as the game doesn't make you ask all the questions about the war, but the story is kind of set up so that the player's knowledge about Stormcloak bigotry and whatnot unfolds rather slowly.

Anyway, when playing through the intro last night, I came up with a semi-plausible reason to follow Hadvar. Since I was going to be a thief/cutthroat type character, and female nonetheless, which in my experience are capable of having more spiteful personalities than men, I reckoned that escaping the imperials might not be her top priority. Perhaps she would try to equip herself during all the confusion, and intentionally stay incarcerated long enough to get revenge on Tullius and/or Rikke. Aaaaannnnndd.... it still didn't feel right so I ended up following Ralof as usual.

At least story-wise. Gameplay-wise Id rather go with Hadvar because I get the free ingots at the Riverwood forge without them being considered stolen and its paced faster so I can get out and enjoy Skyrim sooner without having to listen to all that damn dialogue in Ralofs family reunion.

But it makes no sense. Why the hell would I go with the guys that were just about to cut off my head?

Okay, so 1.5 times as often is more accurate than almost twice as often.

As of Jan 19

Trump 44
Obama 29

Also the only reason its a big deal is because Trump regularly criticized Obama for golfing.

Children must undergo repeat psychological and psychiatric evaluations before they will be considered for hormone therapy.

IF they get on hormone therapy and decide that it's the wrong choice, stopping the hormone treatment will reverse the effects and puberty will happen. Life proceeds as it would have without the hormones.

When kids get to the point of hormone therapy, it's not a rash decision. Most conitnue with it. And this prevents permanent distinct physiological changes that will cause issues with later transitions.

You can't unring a bell, but you can keep a distance from the bell until you're ready to ring it

So if they change their mind? they stop the treatment. ta da.

You see? This is a respectful, informative and productive response. Much more effective and persuasive than Next time do your fucking research. @darkjedilink

Forcing the child to go through puberty can be downright cruel for some children

I mean it isn't really forcing them, it's more letting them right? You're definitely forcing them to not go through puberty, and I think that is probably where a lot of issues regarding this come from. Not taking one side or the other here, just an observation.

no. Children are the ones requesting the hormone treatment. Letting them would be letting them get their treatment. Forcing them is forcing them to go without. An adult can seek this treatment and be granted it, but unfortunately waiting until adulthood means being forced to go through puberty. And this is for someone that is likely to wish to take hormones and possibly undergo surgery to remove secondary sex characteristics that have matured. It's causing present and future suffering.

How about the fact that children often change their minds about things as they get older?

Skyrim was still a pretty new game when I had it done. They put me to sleep during the surgery, so I didn't feel a thing. I never experienced any pain that I would describe as more than just uncomfortable. I was probably fully capable of going back to work after like the 3rd day, but they had given me 6 days off. So I played Skyrim for 6 days straight while experiencing mild discomfort for the first couple of days. I fucking loved it.

The reason is that humans have used alcohol for centuries and more as a means to build communal bonds. It's ingrained into our modern social minds that the people you drink with are your pals. So, even if you don't mean any harm by it, and even though some or many understand your decision, in an almost instinctual sense it feels like you're rejecting their companionship.

Wow that kind of makes enough sense for me to resonate with. Then again Im drunk so I can resonate with most things right now.

I consider myself masculine as fuck. Idk, I dont really gravitate to a gender when I have the option. My Dark Souls and Fallout characters are mostly female. My Elder Scrolls and Monster Hunter characters are pretty much always male.

I think for me it depends on which sex has cooler aesthetics in the game. For example I find it difficult to make a male character on New Vegas that doesnt look lame as hell. Similarly, all the female character models in Morrowind look stupid as hell.
