It's not a good idea to let the president or government in general decide which churches get tax exempt status. I despise Scientology as much as any sane thinking person but this is road you don't want to go down. Personally I don't think any church should be tax exempt, but it's all or nothing. Otherwise you start allowing the persecution of religions the government doesn't like via removal of their tax exempt statuses.

I'm really sorry to hear about that Sable. My dad died rather suddenly (although not unexpectedly) around this time last year, so I know how difficult it is to deal with. I won't say it gets easier over time, but I can say that you will get better at handling your emotions over this in time.

To your ears because it's your native accent.

It's funny, working at a bar, in Toronto, I can spot an American instantly when they speak. American accents are very recognizable.

So am I the one without the accent because I'm Canadian and American accents stand out from the crowd? Or do I have an accent because only Americans "dont have accents"?

Or maybe we all have accents and it comes down to what your familar with, making accents a relative thing.

Accents develop based on the voices you hear while growing up. You will naturally start to mimic the way those people accent how they speak the words they use as well as their cadence, camber, pitch, etc. etc. etc..

I have a midwestern U.S.A. accent, which a great deal of people within the U.S. don't seem to consider an accent at all because it's basically the accent of broadcasting and considered "normal". This is still a f***ing accent.

Why do other people not speak like, whatever you seem to think is not having an accent? Cause they speak how they grew up speaking, or maybe english is not their first language [and thus they are likely smarter than you since they know more than the 1 language you know. ].

Take, people from Japan. It has 101 different phonetic sounds [don't quote me on that, been a while]. None of these make the same sound of the letter L. The closest thing is the letter R. Which is why they often substitute L with R when speaking english, because they aren't used to making that noise. Aaaannnd I'm pretty sure if you attempted to speak French you'd be throw for a loop with a lot of the sounds in their language. Or the ! sound within some african languages. Why? Because it's f***in' hard to master a language you didn't grow up speaking.

Also, you don't strike me as terribly smart. You're not even aware you speak with an accent.

I realize that the TC is a gimmick account, but this isn't bad advice right here. I know most people don't find me attractive, but instead of being depressed about it, I developed a sense of humor about it. And it's managed to work for me.

I'm not planning on reading it. While there's a couple exceptions, I've never been a fan of manga or anime. The topic just made me think of that incident.

I had a customer enter my store yesterday, walk up to me, and ask me what my favorite manga was. After telling him that I didn't read manga, he responded that I need to start reading Tokyo Ghoul; that it's essential reading for anyone whom doesn't normally read manga, whom is looking to start. I can't confirm whether that's accurate or not.

I'm not entirely sure what brought that conversation on, since I've never expressed any interest in checking out manga, although immediately after he tried to sell me health insurance, which suggests that he was trying to find common ground to "connect" with me to help with his sales pitch, and failing miserably...

Can't say I've ever thought "gothy" when I think of Jesus and Mary Chain.

That said, unless you're wanting to sport a shirt with an album cover on it (like the first two), then I'd go with the 3rd one.
