It's more accurate to say gay men can also be racist and that ANY race group can demonstrate it in their dating opinions. There's plenty of gay asian men who flat out say no black guys in profiles. And vice versa. There's latino men who say white guys only. Attractive white guys kind of have the largest selection to choose from in America and of course a bunch of them have certain races they veto too.

As triggering as that all is to see, how could it be fixed so that all race groups get near equal chances to be considered for gay dating?

Let me rephrase that: how could you convince all races of gay men to be willing to be more diverse in their dating selection without resorting to shame tactics that pressure them not to exercise their human right to date who they really want?

If you can find a sound solution that doesn't step on the rights of gay men, yet also promotes recognition of attractiveness of all groups of men, you deserve a Nobel Prize.

I've fallen for plain looking guys before who were just really thoughtful towards me and interested in dating. I mean there's a lot of superficial, self absorbed gay men, which makes the sweet guys stand out more. And most of my priorities in a man are shown more often in the latter. So I've dated plenty of people for reasons besides their looks because they had other traits that made them still appealing to be with.

I've even gotten romantically possessive of some of my plain looking exes. Like I had an ex who was just a regular looking skinny guy with barely any muscle on him, but I was damn proud of saying his ass was my property in the lover's sense. He treated me right and went the extra mile to be romantic. I liked that and casually made it clear he was my man just like when my friends bragged about reeling in some mega hunk. And even as satisfying as it was being with him, my shallow friends couldn't grasp how I could be that content with a regular looking guy who was just really affectionate. They were so wrapped up in hunting down 10/10 guys for one nighters that they didn't see any value in trying to have a relationship with a sweet average Joe.

We ain't together anymore because of different life goals, but that skinny bitch is still one of my top 5 missed guys because of his charm.

Yeah, in a lot of major cities most modern gay men are actually vers or eventually become so, for two simple reasons:

Sex and relationships.

Sometimes a vers guy who prefers to bottom will peg the fuck out of his boyfriend or fuck buddy a few times to get ass fucked in return. Sometimes a guy who's sexual history is 99.9% being a top suddenly wants his boyfriend to pound him once for a change of pace. He's not going to be happy when the boyfriend keeps saying no. What he's going to end up doing is get rammed by someone else to scratch his itch and then go back to his regular routine again. Once the genies out of the bottle, count on him doing that every time you refuse, with or without you knowing.

Not a problem if you're only interested in hooking up or having an open relationship. But it's cancer to exclusive relationships who want to settle down (basically the wanted endgame for a lot of gay couples because not everybody can fuck 'n' chuck forever).

Out of the closet: there's far more bottom gays compared to tops.
Namely twinks and bears. We have a huge surplus of these two as bottoms (unfortunately).

That's why super masculine or "alpha male" power tops or vers (versatile) men are so prized in gay male culture. They're less common to find. Twinks, bears, and gay gymbros fight over them.

Would you date a short man?

Absolutely, I've dated plenty of them. My current man is 5'8".

For a long time I figured I didn't even check height with the men I dated, but I eventually learned that's not the case. If the guy has a regular dad bod, chubby, or skinny...I typically don't care what his height is. And that's a common perspective for gay men to have in regards to partners. There's gay men with preferences for tall height, but they're a fringe and not an actual standard unlike what pop media shows you.

The world's majority of "height queens" are predominately women.
Gay men are far more picky about other traits; such as race, aesthetics, cock size, body hair, etc.

However, looking back I have found I was more particular about height when it came to the athletic muscular men I've dated. Most of them were below 6 foot. For a long time I just assumed it was conincidence because there's hundreds of short gym rats at the places I worked out (it's super common for them to compensate their height by getting swole). Well their tactic worked on me several times. And there was a reason.

Subconsciously to me muscle men between the heights of 5'2" and 5'10" usually have a noticeably more symmetrical gym bod and pumped look than taller guys. It's more common for the shorties to have that crazy thicc looking plump ass and rounded muscles. It's because their frames are more compact so their physique fills in more easily in all the right places. It's generally harder for taller guys to achieve that without some serious juicing.

What I'm saying is: when it comes to muscle men, I zero in on the dude that looks like a thicc bodybuilder. Not the buff lanky basketball player. I like my swole midgets.
