So if anyone knows jack about me, I have an ex of whom the memory of is liable to plague my thoughts. I don't actually remember when we separated, sometime from '12-'14, but basically it's been years. And lately, it hasn't even been plaguing me! You know, I'd considered my sleeping issues to be mostly manageable, I can actually wake up and smile, eat semi-regularly, whatever. Gotten over her.

But late August-ish (was it? fuck my memory), Hurricane Harvey came through over Texas. Just a little hurricane, no big deal, right? I guess not, unless your ex lives there.

So, as I have no social presence anymore, she messaged my mom on Facebook to ask if we were okay. We only realized this halfway through September. And I found the fact that she thinks she should be privy to such information rather inappropriate on her part.

I don't feel like you guys are going to see this the way I see it, but when we broke up, she made it clear we couldn't talk anymore. Basically cause she wouldn't have been able to move on. And she's moved on. So?

So how am I supposed to feel about her curiosity to know whether I am dead or alive, years later, when I've basically been dead to her the whole time? I hadn't let it get to me until I guess today. So I wrote her a message elsewhere.

I'm just curious, as to why it would take a natural disaster for you to check on the wellbeing of persons you don't associate with anymore.

I just want to know why you would still care, one way or the other - when you don't stay in touch anymore. It was a little frustrating, cause, you know, I've been alive this whole time, and as far as I know, that has not been relevant to you.

For a $5 pizza, it's hit or miss. It's not a pro pizza but it's not terrible. Try it and see if you like it, the Supreme and 3-meat are the best, IMO (but like the other guy said, just get the Deep Dish for $8 if you want a better pizza). For $5 and you won't make your own pizza, it's not a bad investment, but if you've ever made your own pizza (homemade. or just ate anyone else's really good pizza I guess), you know that whoever designed the Lil Cesar's pizza blueprint could have either tried harder or selected better ingredients.

It's not good enough to not get tired of (you get full and you're good, maybe eat some later), I never really find myself "craving" it though (more than just not minding it when I'm hungry, anyways).

It was weird cause I already heard a "skirrt" down the road, me and my dad are at an intersection waiting to turn, and I see this van pulling up and all the doors are open. I only get like a second to think to myself "what the hell's up with that?" before I see like three guys jumping out the van, and running off into a neighborhood behind us. It was kind of surreal and I was having trouble paying attention, so I don't know exactly when these things happened, but the van must have just kept rolling forward cause it ended up in the dividing section in the grass between the street. I dunno if the van was stolen, I dunno if they just committed a crime, I dunno anything about it. Oh, there was already a cop van waiting back in that neighborhood, though.

Then the popos pull up (they had maybe 10 seconds to start running) and one goes off after them into the neighborhood, the rest kind of secure the area in the street (with the van), and we make our turn and get the hell out of there.

Funny, I seem to recall racial relations being just fine back when every president in history was white. Not that I'd blame Obama for this entirely, especially not for the color of his skin (though his sympathy towards BLM doesn't paint a good picture), but it seems ironic that only after he was elected did racial relations grow to the worst they've been in the three decades I've been alive. Growing up in the '90s, it seemed like the Civil Rights Movement was already something that was said and done a long time ago, but only now do we have people whining that black people are so oppressed despite one managing to climb up to what may be the single most powerful position on the planet and holding it for two terms.
