'Batmobile (Tim Burton's 1989 Batman)'

Mostly by process of elimination. Liking the Batmobile as a youth is probably what caused me to prefer sports cars over big trucks (unlike the rest of my family).

The Ecto-1 is cool until you realize its just a souped up ambulance. Also, the Twisted Metal games somewhat took that ambulance design and 'grunged' it up over time.

I know, the Ecto-1 is more of a charming model but a very recognisable movie car.
Speaking of charming:

No herbie ( the love bug)?

Its an iconic WV Beetle for sure, probably the most famous one. Maybe I shouldve added Herbie as well.
I think the list I made is pretty good good though.

Great poll TC and Im glad most people agree about Anakin who went from this legendary Jedi Knight in the old films, to a sentimental, soft-voice crybaby with the appeal of a tv-drama queen.

And this Anakin became the terrifying Darth Vader.

Thankfully, Rogue One restored Vader to his former glory as we knew him in the old films before Lucas blew it.

No Lightning McQueen?

Joke or not, thats a car I couldve added in hindsight considering the popularity of Pixar movies. It didnt cross my mind, maybe because its a fairly new entry and also an animation (not that it really matters, its a car)

I know this isnt a widespread result analysis but it could be an indication that the DeLorean is the most popular and liked fictional movie car (again, fictional cars from movies not TV-series- that are aesthetically unique for a film and/or equipped with special gadgetry)

Whats your guess?

Wow that was obviously a huge mistake to say the least.
A company having a new car model in a Bond movie is the greatest compliment, honour and marketing campaign you could ever wish for. Especially if the camera sweeps around the interior and exterior as much as possible.

@ParanoidObsessive

Personally I find the Lotus Esprit car/submarine way cooler than the old DB5, but I think the latter is more recognized among the general audience.

If Id included cars from TV-series and games (which would require way more voting slots) I would among other cars add the KITT 2000 talking Pontiac Trans Am from Knight Rider. Awesome black car with red terminator lights.

One of my personal favourites is the advanced Dodge Viper Defender from the TV-series Viper.

No love for the Mach 5 from Speed Racer?

*Conor McGregor voice*
What the f*ok is that ting? :D

On a serious note though I dont think its as recognizable and iconic as these other ones but I could be wrong I guess. Maybe theres a huge Speed Racer fan base that Im unaware of.

I think the film was based on a comic if Im not mistaken?

Which of the following automobiles is your favourite and why?

I did some research and excluded movie cars that are either too common and without any fictional properties and also appear in a lot of films (Mustang, Dodge Challenger), or vehicles that, based on visual form and overall function, doubtfully can be called a car (Tumbler tank/car) but its just my opinion maybe you disagree. I was about to exclude the Batmobile from Burtons Batman films but I let it pass as it was based on a Chevrolet Impala chassis and you can see a car beneath all the modifications as opposed to the Tumbler.

Speaking of the Batmobiles, I chose to only list one, as there are several different types and the 1989 version is widely regarded as one of the most, if not the most, iconic movie version next to the 1960s one but I think a lot of people here havent even heard about it.

Finally, I chose to exclude cars from TV series as there are too many to count.

My favourite is the Mad Max Pursuit Special, or Interceptor as its also called, from Mad Max 2/The Road Warrior.
Its a heavily modified Ford Falcon XP GT with 600hp (stated in Mad Max from 1979) and a distinctive supercharger. I specifically prefer the weathered and beaten version in The Road Warrior. Just a mean, rusty and very fast post apocalyptic car.
