Well, yes, it gets a bunch of status effect moves. It can chip away at sleeping opponents until they wake up and Flamethrower/Fire Blast it into a beautiful oblivion.

I can't get Ampharos in Crystal, I was hoping to get it because it's one of my faves from Gen 2. I guess it's Jolteon or bust if I want an Electric type.

Terrible stats, terrible moves...

I was looking forward to using it in my Virtual Console Crystal game, but it's absolutely abysmal. It's good at causing status effects and little else.

I'd forgotten how awful it is. I wanted to use it because of how adorable it is but it doesn't even get one good move unless you hunt down the TMs for it, and even then, damn.

When Sega bought Atlus I thought we were getting it for sure. They would've had to remake the game from the ground up, but that might've been for the best: optimize the graphics for 3DS, finally dub the voices in English... if making a profit is a concern, just charge the Atlus tax ($49.99 for the vanilla game at launch) and do multiple special editions with soundtrack CDs and mini-plushes and junk in them for like $69.99 and $99.99. The hardcore fans would have subsidized this one, I know I would've sprung for one of the special editions.
