When I was 18 I had glandular fever (I think it's called mono in America). I missed nearly 3 months of 6th Form with it, but had to go in for a week of exams, which was absolute hell.

My neck was sore and swollen, I could barely eat solid foods and any I did hurt going down, I had really high temp and fever, zero energy and just massive fatigue and varying other cold and flu symptoms that seemed to come and go as they pleased. For 3 months.

I'm 30 now and still feel the effects. I get sick much easier and whenever I do I'm hit with really bad fatigue.

I also had food poisoning a few years ago. Went out to eat with my dad, our work colleague and his friend and we all got it. I spent the whole night sat on the toilet, with my head over the bath throwing up into it. Wasnt right for another few days.

My uncle has us all beat here though. He got food poisoning about 15 years ago that left him paralysed from the waist down for a year. Took him a lot of hard work and physio to overcome it.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege.

They're technically set in the same universe and follow elite military/counter terrorist units, so not sure what a merger would be like.

I'd love a combo game though, where they team up and you get to alternate between CQ battles as Team Rainbow, with the Ghosts providing a more traditional military support to them.

It wouldn't be that crazy to get Jim and Pam back. Let's be serious. It makes literally no sense that Jim, who was a slacker with no perceptible skills will be successful in thr sports world. He should reasonably fail and fall back to square one.

In the early seasons yeah, but he routinely showed he was good at his job as the series progressed. The one thing that was holding him back was his complete lack.of interest in the field. The sports job was his dream, so he's hardly gonna slack off as much.

I never played Rogue, Unity or Syndicate and I know my opinion of Black Flag is an outlier. I just thought that BF was incredibly boring. It was a good pirate game, but a bad Assassin's Creed. There was barely any plot and I thought that 3 had just the right amount of the sailing/piracy and they didn't need to make a whole game around it.

Especially if you look at Portugal as an example. They completely reformed their drug legalisation and how they deal with drug addicts. Decriminalising most drugs and offering support snd safety for addicts. The addiction rate has dropped significantly, going from.being one of Europe's.highesy to one.of the lowest.

Studies have shown that this is far most cost effective than what tax payers end up footing the bill for when people OD in an alleyway or whatever.

Same as when you house, support and provide jobs for the homeless, rather than arrest them or move them on to a new area. But who cares about the long term effects and benefits, when in the short term it might cost a few people a bit more money.

It's become increasingly apparent that while Trump supporters were bellyaching about how Bernie supporters supposedly didn't understand economics, they don't know shit about economics themselves.

There's also a lot who don't care, because they're so beholden to the whole American Dream/disenfranchised millionaire attitude. Even if they are negatively affected now, they don't care, cause if they work hard enough they'll eventually make it and that's when they'll reap the benefits. Regardless of the fact that the US has pretty much the lowest social mobility rates in the West and that half of these people are already like 50+ years old.

Japanese work culture is one of the roughest in the world. For some companies it's expected to stay working until the boss leaves, even if you're already done all your work for the day. People are so busy that they don't even have time to raise a family especially now that many women are also working these office jobs.

And when you tie in the rampant institutional sexism, it means that women often work harder and find it impossible to get employment at the same tier after having maternity leave.

So when they have to work harder and for more years to get a good position in a company, a lot are.opting not to throw that away by having a kid.

I used bezerk a few times and poisoned a few corpses, and firing sleep darts into a fire was really useful if the opportunity arose. But yeah, overall they were pretty pointless.

In an ideal world, where I knew my tax dollars were going towards hard working people who deserved them or the less fortunate who were making a genuine effort to contribute, I'd be OK with it.

But, we live in a world where scumbags can go on welfare and sap all the money for useless ends. Our taxes go toward vacation budgets, and other useless things. So I'm economically conservative and want to hold on to my money because the socially liberal programs wouldn't spend it in a smart way.

That's not socially left leaning though. That's still fiscally right. You're thinking about your own pocket, rather than the collective's.

It's a fact that people are going to game the system, and that's at all levels; be it people working for cash in hand and claiming welfare at the same time, or small business owners under declaring certain aspects of tax, or big business paying millions to lawyers and legislatures to find and create loopholes that save them millions more.

Someone left leaning would accept the losses from the few people at the bottom rung cheating the system, because fractionally it's a negligible amount, especially when compared to the greater offerings to wider society.

Am I the only one that finds the concept of being fiscally right wing and socially left wing to be a massively incompatible?

A lot of the key concepts of the left, such as universal healthcare, benefits/welfare systems, minimum wage, trade unions/employee rights etc, are dependant on not being fiscally conservative. They're all about you giving up some of your direct, personal wealth towards a collective pot.

I just find it a bit disingenuous, both to the left and to the right. If what you mean is "I'm right wing, but I'm not a racist and I support LGBT rights" then just say you're right wing and then prove the latter through your actions, as all you're doing is help perpetuate the idea that the right not only doesn't, but can't support those concepts.

Not even close. He's a terrorist sympathiser. His ex wife was the sister of a Guantanamo prisoner whose father and brothers pretty much all died fighting for Al Qaeda. He knew where he was going and what he was doing.
