20 y/o AOL Instant Messenger is no longer operational! You can no longer log in or even go on aim.com...the service credited with the creation of social media has now died. A victim of the Casual Revolution of 2007, the very services it inspired ended up killing it, such as Facebook. Dozens of users that still used the service are saddened by the death of AIM as they cry on social media.

In 10 years, will consoles exist? After all, even the Nintendo Switch is not a real console but built like a dockable tablet...in power and form factor, it's closer to an iPad Pro than a PS4 Pro and has a tablet CPU. To add to that, 42% of all gaming revenue is made through smartphone and tablet games. Surely the Switch is adding to that as well.

Some people are declaring that the age of platformers and RPGs is OVER as developers bring their focus on more profitable action, shooting, and sports games! In the latest PS4 commercials, only sports and action games are shown and no RPGs or platformers. PS4 is the most popular console of this generation and the system with the platformers, the Wii U, flopped. For 2016 video games, there are no platformers and only one RPG in the top 10, with the RPG being 10th!

But do you think the age of platformers and RPGs is over, overtaken by games like Call of Duty and Madden? Let's see what people think.

With the release of Super Mario Odyssey, many people are saying that the concept of lives is DEAD! All because Mario no longer has lives for the first time since the 80s, just coins. Many people also point to modern trends where you simply die, get a game over, and then continue. In some cases, you don't even have a life meter, just a realistic bloody screen.
