I haven't been in the best of moods lately, but I received some news that (potentially) helps. Part of the reason I was so frustrated is the potential I'd have to move so soon. It looks like that has been called off, and my schedule for April to June seems to be back to normal (an on-campus internship). It doesn't change the fact I screwed up and only get one more opportunity, but unless they say otherwise, I won't have to move as soon like I originally thought.

I've kinda used this topic as a venting station (at the worst time), but at least for now, I think I can end UCA's final week the right way.

Heiss is such a conniving bastard. Totally setup Rosch to take the fall during an op, only to allow Stocke to nab whatever it was would implicate him and Hugo in the process. \Why did he do his? For the lulz...Now Stocke, Rosch, and Sonja are on the run. In normal history, Heiss is probably orchestrating Eruca's assassination, because of course he is.

I like all the extra crap this game lets me do for sidequesting. Also, I ponied up the money for the EXP and Gold DLC. This game was starting to feel like Dragon Quest, giving out so little gold for so much work. I'm only going to do EXP to people who fall behind in levels, so I don't want to trivialize the game (while avoiding any excess grind).

Interesting side stories between the Sand Fortress arcs. Aht shows up in one story, and Stocke keeps throwing out surprises since he learns sword dancing from Kiel and becomes full on persuasive bard at a checkpoint. As I said before, I want to try not using Aht too much. Her skills are OP, but that's precisely why I want a different experience. The problem is Marco is being a jack of all trades, master of none. Poor guy.

While I'm not busy, I want to let Stifled know that the loss was his own fault. I beat him at his own game. I care very little for open challenges or fights right now. Go ahead and make "one last great show" at my expense if you want, but that's only if you have the balls to get it done. Speaking of, I see all these "historic tag teams" clamoring for one more opportunity.

I ask, where the HELL were you when the division needed you? For that matter, where were you when UCA needed you? Apollo and I busted our ass to elevate ourselves and these championships, but when we put challenges out to you, and when Eaed and others provided opportunities, did none of you say, "You know, we want to face the best? Only now that Rumble and Mania come calling do you offer yourselves as challenges. I cry for the fate of the division I wanted to make great, but was met with complete apathy.

Apollo threw out one more challenge to any team worth a damn. I'm not sure why though. You didn't answer us when we needed you. Why should I expect you to bring it to Mania when it counts?

We have no more time left. Obviously, I have no more fucks to give in many things. So I will say this very...simply. None of you, NONE of you deserve to take this from Apollo and I. I don't appreciate spending my valuable time...our valuable time placating weak-minded people who can't see opportunities in front of their stupid faces.

UCA will die.
Pathetic "tag teams" will die.
This "division" will die.

Will I find any solace when UCA's bad luck finally catches up and kills it? No. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Good riddance to people who don't measure up to The Kingdom, and good riddance to anyone who thinks they "deserve" to take our last moment away from us. Maybe I'll find some happiness when I skin each and every opponent alive in front of the world. After all, there's no point in hurting myself if I don't share it with everyone else.

Having finally made some headway into the main plot, the allusions to Chrono Trigger add up less and less when you consider VLR/ZTD now exist, coming out a little later than the original RD. Sure, both this and Zero Escape are merely streamlining what CT did but whatever. Mechanically, the game allows you to revisit any point in the timeline (skippable cutscenes and fast forwarding HOORAY!), in an almost roguelike sense. You keep all the weapons, armor, and levels (AND DAMAGE) you'd acquired, and your main goal is to figure out what spot correlates to what break in the two timelines. Letting the events play out fleshes out the story and lets you continue.

The fact that Stocke is allowed to remember all of these details is even better. He seems to take moments like Raynie and Marco's deaths really hard, but it emboldens him to take what the twins say at face value. He's very determined, but he questions when he has to. He's in an unwinnable situation. It also helps that he covers loopholes like having too much power using the White and Black Chronicles. Smart game this is.

Also, whoever said Heiss has bad guy vibes is just hitting on all cylinders. After the first game split, it's not as if he gets any better. He has this shit eaten grin all good bad guys have, and his VA is certainly adding to the punch. Speaking of VAs, PATRICK SEITZ SIGHTING! THIS GAME JUST GOT A ROCK HARD RAGER!/DanganRonpa reference.

The game threw out its first false ending too. The creepy kids are like, "You need the alternate timeline to answer this problem. Ok then. I'll save all that mess for tomorrow.

I think the "Chibi" thing is a DLC pack. The default portraits are how they were on the DS. No music differences. I don't recall this scene with Eruca pleading with her mother to no avail Schala/Zeal style, totally implying Protea orchestrated taking the throne because DECADENT EVIL QUEEN LADY!

Wendee Lee and Melissa Fahn are in this too. Bebop OGs holding down the anime/videogame fort even after 20 years.

I had to get used to the grid movement skills. Left actually means right for whatever reason...(The enemies right is "Left Assault"). Whatever. I figured it out and got through the first mission. Raynie was always cool, but voice acting has made her amazing.

That was a good choice. Outside of any Persona/SMT game, it was probably my favorite game of the past 10-15 years. I'd have to go back pretty far to see anything I'd say is better.

I didn't get through much, but I'm enjoying the full emphasis on voice acting. Every line thus far has been handled, and even NPCs get a grunt or two. It let me know a bunch of good actors (Richard Epcar, Paul St. Peter, and Matt Mercer for example) are strewn through this cast. I don't recognize Stocke, Raynie, or Marco's VAs, but everyone sounds exactly as I'd hoped they would. Stocke alone is just fantastic. One of the things I enjoy most about this game is he is not the "pretty boy" protagonist type you see nearly everywhere. He walks, talks, and kicks ass like a special operative.

Graphics wise, I put this as a "Steampunk Tales of Phantasia" of sorts. Alistel is got a lot of Narshe vibes going on, though more surrounded by desert than snow. I can't wait to see what the rest of the game looks and sounds like.

One of the best RPGs back in the DS catalog got a re-release this week. I haven't played this in years, and I'm hopeful the new stuff adds to what was already a fantastic game. I will black bar any spoilers I mention, but I invite others to follow this topic with their own playthroughs.

All I remember about the game was Aht shredding monsters like chumps. I'll try a different battle tactic just for fun.

Depends on the situation. I would have probably been more volatile and risky. I was always more interested in the "themes" of feuds rather than results too, so I had a tendency of throwing out my own interpretations rather than following along. Even withChris, I think we had different ideas of what DARKNESS was

The hit in results would be obvious though. No matter how hard I try, I can't match your popularity in most cases.

Given recent events, I recall a situation. I already mentioned undergoing a face turn via the Alec Soaring Eagle suit. At the time, I was feuding with Apollo towards Mania. In the midst of it, Eddv throws out an offer that looms kinda large in the "What If" department.

I was originally asked to be the third member of TRIFECTA.

I'm not saying things didn't work out for me. I was laser focused on the Apollo feud (the crux of which was I wanted to be on my own). I kinda felt going to another stable at the time would be a step back (even if Eaed and Eddv were obviously really good). Sultan was the replacement, and it eventually led me to the Knights of the Night somehow....and of course the Hardcore Match, so yeah. Big what if there.

I don't know about the TRIFECTA scenario, but I figure it would have worked regardless of whether Sultan or I were in it. The dynamics of the team would be different. Sultan certainly added a Roman Reigns element, while I would have been a Dean Ambrose (or even a scheming Seth Rollins type, given my creative ideas when I PM things).

I ended up teaming with Eddv later, but I don't think Eaed and I ever worked together. An odd coincidence, with how Mania is shaping up for those three.

I wonder if other users have "What Ifs" they think about.
