is that what it was? coulda swore it was something of theirs. nevermind ignore me, its been over a decade.

I thought it was too, i had to look it up.

he kills the predator with its own flying-razor-disc thing, which might be what you're thinking of. not sure if he gets to keep it or not though.

He drops the disc when the others appear, then says "Who's next?".

As for the gun he's given, it has a date stamped on the side that I think says 1859. I know it's 1800's, just not exactly sure which year.

Whether I say something is anime or a cartoon depends on how it's laid out. If you can more or less watch episodes in any order and not be missing anything, it's a cartoon. If you have to watch them in the established sequence to be able to keep track of what's going on, it's anime.

The title of this topic should be "More people are killed by their own stupidity than an intentional act by someone else".

You can't fix stupid, but you can try to stop terrorists.

I just saw an article about this a couple days ago. It was either/or. He'd order two Big Mac's or the Filet-O-Fish, and I recall it saying a small chocolate malt (which the writer took to mean a chocolate shake).

Could be misremembering some details. I was reading the article to kill time and didn't actually care.

The only game that I made a real effort to make the character look like me was the one it was hardest to do: GTA 5. What I ended up with was someone that looks like a Russian mobster, with the outfit I have him in.

With the female character I made (because the option exists), I tried (and failed) to make one that looked attractive. I generally do that with most games. Male characters I don't put too much effort into, unless there's a particular style I'm going for. In ME I just went with the default, Fallout I use basic features. But in Skyrim my orc character was designed to look as ugly and vicious looking as possible, because orc.

I generally read through the entire topic, but will skim over posts that seem pointless.

I also don't bother with multi-page topics unless it's something I have an interest in, but my settings are for 30 posts per page, so multi-page topics are huge for me.

By TC's definition, he's referring to wars the U.S. fought only for its own benefit.

And DeathMagnetic addressed that with his list. Not including the Revolution (what we got from that shouldn't have to be explained), we still hold land acquired in two of the other three named. In fact, I think there are some islands we took from Japan in WWII that we still hold as territories. I just don't recall which ones because I can't remember when exactly we took ownership of all the Pacific islands we hold, and don't feel like looking it up.

Only thing is the Philippine-American War. That one we held land we took in the Spanish-American War, so I'm not sure it would count in TC's definition.

Also, TC seems to only be thinking of gains in a material sense. WWII was the beginning of the U.S. becoming a world superpower. The goal of Korea was to show the spread of Communism wasn't unstoppable (Vietnam was a bit of a black mark against that, but showed that the government can only do so much if the people don't support it). The Gulf War was a demonstration of what it means to be a superpower, when a 500,000 man force can crush a 10 million man army in a couple months (I'm including the air campaign that led up to the ground war).

Was going to add something about Iraq and Afghanistan, but there's no telling where the topic will go after that, and I'm not getting into it.
