As much as I've learnt to like the band - and it grew on me - I must say Radiohead is kind of overrated.

I like the most experimental side of the band with masterpieces such as Kid A and A Moon Shaped Pool, but I feel like it kind of lacks intensity sometimes. OK Computer has some boring moments.

Key word: intensity. They are definitely very talented and creative, but not intense.

Light was never a good person, but at least he killed off a lot of bad people.

For what? Assholes would still exist, finding other anonymous ways to be assholes (even if they had to control the media to avoid having information about them leaked). We could have a world where people would constantly lie about their names. Light wasn't eternal; he would die, eventually, and I doubt he would find a suitable successor. There are a lot of holes in his ideas, actually, and it is weird that so few of them were explored in the story.

Lelouch from Code Geass was a much, much better character than Light. They are both manipulative, but Lelouch:

- Recognizes he is being a manipulative bastard; doesn't see himself as morally superior, and acknowledges that some passions and goals are beyond "good" and "evil"
- Is ready to sacrifice himself for his goal, and isn't pathetically afraid of death like Light is ("the only ones who should shoot are the ones who are prepared for being shot themselves")
- Has meaningful relationships with people, including his sister; despite being an asshole, he is humane and cares about some few people, whereas Light is a robot with no genuine relationships
- Has a realistic goal which isn't "getting rid of evil in the world"

I could make many more points, but if Death Note wanted to create an amazing "anti-villain" or badass handsome hero, it failed miserably

gender is mental and sex is physical. i just recently realized that I'm trans myself fairly recently so I'm "new"to it, so I can't really explain that well.

Which makes me raise another question.
If gender is totally mental and sex is totally physical, we should have more transgendered people in the world. People's gender and sex would be totally random, the trans to cis people ratio would be 1:1. But that's clearly not the case. There is a link between gender and sex, and this is why most people are cis. Can't think of any other reason.

The nation doesn't really know what it is (which is understandable), what its identity is - only that it'll fall back on crying out "freedom" and patting itself on the back. It's the equivalent of a child that wants to do whatever pleases it and is in a position to get away with it. It's still growing up and learning what it is - its just frightening for the rest of the world that the most powerful influence is essentially a belligerent child - going on teenager.

I think America = materialism. Take materialism out of the equation, and America is not a civilization anymore. Its ideology is capitalism. America lacks a spiritual component, a strong identity that defined Western culture some centuries ago. It can't be a strong leadership for the West, and this is why the West is falling apart. It is so clear to me that America's religion is money, and not Christianity, as much as other people like to think otherwise.

Keep in mind that the USA is a country that claims itself to be the best, the most powerful, most righteous, most badass, democratic, and paints all of its enemies as anti-democracy, anti-freedom and evil. The country has also consistently shown throughout history that it will fuck everyone in order to get its piece of cake. I'm not saying this "anti-American" mentality is right, just saying that I understand where those people are coming from. I see how this American propaganda may make someone who isn't born in the country uncomfortable.

If you want to change that, you can start by acting different from what many people imagine an average American to be.

1. Stop relying ONLY on your mainstream news channels to get information, like Fox News. It is the information age, you know, and you can rely on alternative sources. Be aware that your government (like any other) lies to make itself look better.

2. Acknowledge the fuck ups of your government from the past. You don't have to hate it, just admit it wasn't always perfect.

3. Stop with the imperialist and self-righteous propaganda. In other words, leave other countries be (unless in self-defense scenarios), acknowledge that other culture =/= mean and anti-freedom, and seek a less aggressive international plan of action.

Heck, I still meet some Americans who think Thomas Edison was something, and say he invented electricity... do they even teach about the existence of Tesla in American schools? They do everything to pretend electricity was an American's invention,and not a Serbian's, after all. Oh yeah, the airplane's invention too. I think having a pitbull like this should be against the law actually. As someone said before, if you think carefully, it is not that different from raising a tiger or having a pet crocodile. It is a deadly animal. It is a threat not only to yourself, but to others as well. If not against the law, it should be regulated in a more strict way. It is like having a gun.
