The comic Cerebus started off as a Conan the Barbarian parody and quickly became incredibly complex, not exactly the same thing, but it's kinda similar.

It's one of those weird series that towards the end it became less about the story and more the author's soapbox for some crazy ass beliefs. I still enjoyed it but the author had some real bad issues with women that makes it hard to read later on.

It ended last August. From what I remember it wasn't exactly sudden if you were reading it. Still the writer got a pretty harsh deadline to end the series inside of so many chapters.

Yeah it came off as being cancelled especially since the numbers were so low. Sorry for the false alarm.

It's one of those things that varies person to person. Friend of mine takes it all the time and his addictive personality makes it a minor issue. Personally I've done it on and off and it helps with pain a fair bit and tastes gross as hell, when it comes to getting a buzz it's more that it enhances my mood rather than anything comparable to other drugs or alcohol. The whole banning thing is pretty fucking stupid in my opinion and probably just trying to avoid cutting in on the money big companies make off pain killers.

That should go without saying but I'm sad that some people don't already get that. There is not some inherent force that comes into play when government decides to do something that sabotages things. PSM was my jam around the late 90s and early 2000s. Just tons of info before the internet made things instantaneous.

But yeah TC I love old gaming magazines, still have quite a few myself that I've read through dozens of times. A lot of old Nintendo Power running til around 1993 or so, and tons of Game Players and Game Pro from a bit later. I really loved Game Fan since it showed a lot of import stuff that we would never get here.

it's definitely not just online only. The depth of the story mode surprised me. No its not just play fight then cutscene, there's a grid based world system where you move and fight enemies and bosses while leveling up and getting equipment for your fighters. It's a lot more deep than I expected.

Yeah I've put a bit of time into the story mode and I didn't expect it to actually have a bit of depth. Plus the writing can be amusing even the story itself isn't anything special.

I enjoyed Super Mario RPG a fair bit when it came out, was one of the best games late in the SNES life span, but I found Super Star Saga fucking fantastic. Got it on release and took it with me on a hunting trip, easily one of the most enjoyable times I've had playing through something, plan on eventually getting the port. Only other one I played was Bowser's Inside Story and I like it but damn did I feel like I spent 90% of the game doing a tutorial.

I think it's way too early to give so much credit to the tax cuts. The fact companies are playing nice right now isn't an indication of what they'll do once the spotlight shifts. I say if they keep this sort of thing up without being under public pressure it was a good move but we have awhile to go before we hit that point. Right now it's expected they put on a show to curb the criticism of all the previous times major corporations have abused government assistance.
