I only did it once, but I told a TA that I was a triplet once with my two best pals from high school (one had come to visit and sat in during class). Once he started asking intrusive questions, I had to split. Not sure why I did it. Feel weird and dumb for doing it.

In preschool, I convinced three or four kids I was an alien. I don't feel as dumb for that, but it was weird as hell.

Usually I agree but 21st birthday you know

I generally dissuade youthful exuberance, but I have to say YES on this. For my twenty-first, I went home to be with my parents and buy my first alcohol at the local liquor store. My best buddy (twenty-three) bought the booze for me because he was excited about my birthday, failing to realize the 'naughtiness' of buying it was exactly the point of the ritual.

When we got home, the neighbor kid came over (fourteen years old), so I felt weird about drinking in front of her and ended up asleep on the couch at 10:00 while she and my parents watched the Olympics.

Have a great time on your birthday, TC! Eat hearty pasta the afternoon before with a multivitamin, drink water during, eat cheeseburgers the morning after.

What a shame. Good luck. I did an abysmally long-distance relationship, but any distance you can't meet up for is functionally the same. When can you see each other next? Take some soup or [insert favorite juice here].

I'd recommend at least one of your get a license. It's worth it as a life skill alone.

Who is there to frown upon it? By definition, they lack the infrastructure to give you a grade or any physical metric of understanding, so the only reason people would think poorly of you would be if you went around pretending to be expert because you did half a freshman lecture course online.

I saw it written on a dressing room door when I was seven or eight. I sounded it out aloud and my mom, alarmed, told me not to say it because it meant was "really, really, really, really mad."

A while later, I was working on homework with my dad and reached a point of frustration, which I responded to by scrawling it across the whole of my worksheet. I got a longer explanation of it after that (but one that wasn't fully rounded until sixth grade or so).

Teacher: Fired, probation, barred from county or state teaching positions. Court-mandated therapy.

Kids: Juvenile trial for unlawful recording and surveillance that ends in some essay writing and community service. Principal should thank them for the specific deductive skills they used, not the spying.

At this point in my life, I drink more beer than I ought, but that's going to taper soon due to life situation changes (i.e. I live across the street from a liquor store now and will live more than six miles away in a stricter state within the month). I swore off hard liquor late last year and will only entertain the occasional hard cocktail now (e.g. hot toddies around the holidays, etc.).

Red wine started making me instantly sick, within minutes, around the time I turned twenty-six, so that's right out. I prefer white wine anyhow, but am not wild about.

My reasons for wanting to quit are that it's a waste of money and time. I like the buzz it gives me, but I've gotten the point where I don't have any specific new giddiness with my drinking. I have less drive to drink to excess, less of a threshold for "excess" and enjoy being with the same people I spent my drinking years with whether I'm sloshed or not.

Home repair is edifying. I'm moving home to take care of the family home and am looking forward to obtaining new, specific skills. It'll be as useful as learning to tie my shoes was when I was a kid and will help out exponentially more going forward.

I'm moving from Washington state to Maryland (coast to coast!), heading down California and through the desert states, then up through Tennessee.

It'll take two weeks to go across and, when we finish, we'll be at my family home, where we're taking up residence to care for my parents and start back up a little livestock operation. Really thrilled to be heading to Maryland to start my excellent life.

Anyone know good tips for festive things in AR or OK during December?

Our car died tonight, so instead of having a moving truck with a tow dolly on the back, we just have the truck now. Better here than on the road, eh?

We are moving from Washington state back to our home state of Maryland over the course of two weeks. We'll have a rental truck with our studio apartment's possessions in it and a hitched trailer hauling a sedan. Starting from WA, we're going down California, then across the southwest and up through Tennessee and skirting Appalachia (avoiding the snowiest parts).

This is my third road trip and my spouse's third or fourth, one of which was together about six years ago, but this one we have more maturity, a solid plan and a joyous destination, so we can put more effort into the mirthful parts like seeing the World's Biggest Prairie Dog (did it! loved it!).

Any tips or destinations you'd recommend? I've never driven with a hitch before and am a little apprehensive about going through any suburban or high-density areas with it.

What do you want to know? I've gotten bucketfuls of different berries and can tell a rotten chestnut from a good one on sight (though not a decent one from a good one or any intervening shades).

Are there trees near you?

Don't pick up ones that have been sitting on wet soil.

Disappointment of Homer.

It's way meta. You're probably too young to get it, but that sort of stuff was big in the 90s.

Edit real answer: The voice actor ad libbed it when prompted. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%27oh!
