She wasn't punished. No one fined or jailed her. She lost her job and endorsement deals. This is because she alienated a part of target audiences. It's business.

Mmhmm.

Tarring and feathering somebody for something ingornant done in the past they aknowledge is wrong and no longer do nor have done in decades if not longer is totally justice.

She wasnt just fired, the media dragged her image through the mud.

Reminds me if the great leap forward.

Dude, she wasn't arrested or fined. Her job was to entertain. She had a video of her insulting part of her target audience. Only an idiot ignores that and no one of any demographic accepts apologies for things from celebrities.

It's not like she was an accountant who said a racial slur. She was a TV personality. If you want to be a public person, make sure your private life is on the up and up and on lock down. The higher and easier you rise the easier it is to lose all of it.

Oprah has no clue how to run a country and would probably just be an establishment puppet.

Would I take her over Trump? Yes, I wouldn't take her over a third party candidate that put their own blood sweat and tears into improving the country for the working class.

IMO Oprah would make a great president. She has exposed herself everyday to knowledge and experts on a countless range of topics. She is a major humanitarian and she has great values. She cares for people genuinely and is eloquent.

She has many experts available to her and knows them across wide backgrounds. She wouldn't have political history to be true to in a new office. She wouldn't need donations from platforms she doesn't agree with.

She's not a stupid person. She's not impulsive. I may not agree with her on all things, but she'd be a great president.

She probably wouldn't. If "nice person who interacts with people from all walks of lives" made for a great president, Jimmy Carter would be the greatest of them all.

As for intelligence, that's a little hard to verify. I *think* she has either a bachelors or an associates from a state school -- hardly an accomplishment -- and she has a *lot* of people working behind the scenes on her image.

If you don't like the current representative electoral college, vote for someone that agrees with your opinion. If enough people agree and that person makes it their platform issue they could make it more known and a more popular party/candidate may take it up if enough people care.

Do you really think that "The Rent is Too Damn High" person thought they would be elected president? No, they just wanted their platform out there. It failed because not enough people that would benefit from his platform actually vote and there are already rent programs to help people in the US.

There are much better forms of loss prevention than putting the burden on your customers to prove they just bought the things they bought

I live in one of the largest US cities and go to Costco on the regular. I don't think I've ever stood there for more than a minute to get out. Some burden... Also, it gives someone a job. You want these people to lose their job?

disagree. You can be lonely with family and you you don't need family not to be lonely.

Besides, as you grow more mature and independent (as all normal humans should) you will naturally drift apart from your family as neither will actually need the other as much

That's sad to see someone say. I've made great friends, but no one treats you like family.

LOL So sad.

What is sad about that?

I was like ten when I first heard about the series and by then the go-to rpg was final fantasy, phantasy star was old news and was indeed bad compared to what was available even if it was decidedly good for it's time.

A lot of the people itt probably have the benefit of having viewed the games as case studies in the mid 2000s but me as a kid only having the money to buy one or two games per year, I was not interested in experimenting in the mediocre.

I get that, I guess I read your post as more graphic shaming a Genesis game. Having played every Final Fantasy, I can subjectively say that until FFVI, Phantasy Star 4 easily blew them all out of the water story, graphics, and (For most but there is an exception) gameplay.

What country? It doesn't appear to be a problem in the US. Here we have internships where you are learning and gaining experience so you can apply for a job that you may not otherwise be able to. They may also get college credit. There are six strict requirements for unpaid interns in the US.

In Australia, the specific example they give to say it's unlawful is the fact that you have to call in if you're not going to make it. This illustrates that your work isn't supervised.

In order to be legal you have to be under supervision for assessment.

I still feel affirmative action is necessary. Until the average black male can be looked at statistically the same based on percentage of the population I feel we should continue to work on it.

The issue here is momentum. You already ackowledged that people are feeling the effects of decades back, so surely the same rings true the other way. If you keep pushing until you reach equal statistics then the momentum of your actions will push it in the other direction, the correctionary force overshoots and we end up with a pendulum.

I worry that affirmative action is keeping treatment unstable instead of letting equality stay its course and naturally resting at an even balance.

I understand your point, but these laws affirmative action are meant to compensate for aren't many generations ago. It was one or two generations ago. So, maybe in time it will no longer be necessary, but you can't say the momentum is so much now that blacks are going to be over awarded.

And I gotta say that it sounds very defensive even to me that you don't want to risk losing any advantage you or I may have. That is telling that we have privilege we at least know about.

Laws that limited the US Black community aren't that old even today in 2017. There were constant creative ways we kept the black community separate even when it wasn't legal to do so. Even now there are higher income neighborhoods where you will find fewer black families.

It may no longer be intentional, but it's a sad result of what our grandparents and even parents allowed to happen if you are a 40ish adult.

All of this to say, on topic, yes, I believe the US black male is punished more in courts unintentionally more often, but also intentionally sometimes.

As a US white male do I have a solution? No, but I'm not going to ignore it. I vote equality at every opportunity and I still feel affirmative action is necessary. Until the average black male can be looked at statistically the same based on percentage of the population I feel we should continue to work on it.

I'm not going to cry and act like they are still persecuted though. For the most part they are committing crimes and there are black people that work hard and are successful with our system. I've seen more racism from blacks than whites personally.
