TopicHow DID life START on EARTH in THE first PLACE?

Panspermia doesn't totally answer how life originated, just changes where. It's strange to think there's been life on Earth for about a quarter the time the entire universe has existed, and that the first generation stars probably wouldn't have made elements in abundance to have planets or life like we have now, with the Sun being a third? generation star... makes it hard to imagine where that DNA or whatever would have come from before Earth.

Nothing can really be deduced about afterlifes or higher planes of existence either, cause we're probs in a simulation and that kinda makes anything possible.

I see...herpes (or syphilis too depending on where you live) in your future.

Condoms aren't incredibly effective against contracting either of these, so pick your random chicks wisely either way

That sounds pretty bad. I've seen stuff like bosses mismanaging people's workloads and getting annoyed that people didn't meet impossible expectations before, but swearing at and demeaning you, and in public is just unprofessional. No need to put up with that.

In fact that you'd probably get more professional treatment from McDonald's, and a pay not too far behind, just means the job is easily replaceable. You're not giving up anything great.

If you don't desperately need the reference and you have some savings just quit and look for something else. The whole point of a job ultimately is to enrich your life, and this one's not doing that, especially if its making you ill.

Yeah that was pretty terrifying at 5 years old, both the thought of freezing to death like that and psychologically watching a cartoon commit suicide. What was he even freaking out about to do that?

Validation, people do it to see how you react, try to see if they're desirable. Men do it too, but more often honest / desperate enough to go ahead and do something more.

It's not very nice they're just experimenting with you, but at least they value your opinion.

They're not the greatest stories ever, but that doesn't mean they're bad.
...except MGSV, that was bad. Maybe if it was finished.

Flirting is just anything that communicates your interest in someone. It doesn't need to involve any specifically worded small talk or anything. A normal conversation would do as long as you being it across that you think shes cool and you want to see her again.

But how do differentiate romantic interest from platonic?

It could be even literally that, "I think you're pretty cool, wanna go out sometime?" Just any easy going convo, but conclude it like that making it clear you're into her romantic styles, so then if she's also interested she won't shy away from saying so. Women generally don't like to make the first move, or even the first acknowledgment, so don't be vague about it or try to drop hints, but then also don't try to be all like 'in da club' about it, cause that kind of flirting is always terrible, even when actually in da club.

Iceland's pretty cool, especially if you like outdoorsy stuff. But I'd want to leave at some point. It's not a very materialistic place either, you wouldn't be able to be a billionaire in the same way you would in like USA.

Exchanges will be happy to buy them from the few for whatever, so long as all the newbies at the bottom of the pyramid are happy to buy them at the same price. They just want their commission.

Yeah, we'd need more info on how big the whole universe is and on the all the necessary variables for life before actual statistics and probability can be applied.
Easy to think there's about 10^23 stars, so probs 10^25 planets and moons - one of other's would have to have life, but we don't know enough about life's necessary variables, or what the probabilities of each variable are to know their product isn't more or less than 1 in 10^25. I know it's kinda hyperbole, but when you consider there's a 1 in 10^67 chance of arranging a pack of 52 cards correctly, it's hard to tell whether the right arrangement of molecules would necessarily have come together, even within the few billion year window of opportunity there's been.

Also depends what's considered life - self replicting RNA molecules or something similar would be way more likely than animals, which are way more likely than human level intelligence etc.

About $100 or something. Sometimes I wish I bought loads when it was cheap, but at the same time I wasn't exactly gonna send bank details and stuff to the dodgy sites you had to get them from a few years ago.

Lots of old cars, lots of biomass burning, densely packed cities, not much wind to blow it all away.
