Ok, I was young and my mother wanted to watch a horror film with my sister and I was taken.

The horror movie was about cats. Live action film. I got scarred and my mom had to take me to another theatre while my sister stayed and watched the movie.

Considering I was an infant, this had to have happened in 1987. Maybe 1988. This happened in NYC. Bronx borough.

My father has had only one job in life - US Postal Worker. From 18 until retirement. On his days off, he likes to get drunk. And my mother always got pissed.

So on a particular day, my mom wanted him to stay home and help her take care of me and my dad was like, "Nah. Day off. Getting drunk with the boys". So my mother said around 3am she gets a call and it's NYPD officers asking her to come and pick my dad up because he got pulled over shit faced. My mom said no and to lock his ass up (yeah, spiteful and forgetting my dads good job paid for everything). The NYPD officers were like, "He has a good job and can get fired". My mom told the cops to literally fuck off and no.

An hour later passes and there's two NYPD officers knocking on the door. They literally drove my dad home and the other officer drove my dad's car back to the house. My mom was livid and yelled at the cops.

They apparently laughed and went back to their patrol car probably thinking my mom was the biggest bitch ever.

No arrest. No charges, nada. DUIs were treated so differently back then.

Thank you to wherever you two NYPD were. My life was a bit better growing up because my father didn't lose his job due to an arrest.
