Koreans think you can't complain and should be able to handle anything on your plate just because you're rich and famous.

There are literally many Koreans today who responded to the news of Jonghyun's suicide with "But why would he kill himself? He was famous!"

It's just sad.

And the general awareness and education on mental health is deplorable, where you're more likely to be publicly shamed for depression, along with a host of other issues related to mental health or learning disabilities, than you are to get the help you need.

Oh, and if you do receive help, it's put on your medical record. Which can be reviewed by companies looking to hire you. In a society that, as mentioned above, flippantly dismisses mental health issues.

It's a horrible cycle.

YG has already moved on to Mix9 and his upcoming girl group. That was the death knell for BlackPink sadly. YG will always devote all his resources to the shiny new toy.

-I'm surprised Apink is in the top 5
-I'm surprised that Blackpink is that low, same as AOA. I know AOA has lost a lot of ground, but I can't believe that much
-Glad to see WSJN and Lovelyz are doing well. Hope DIA does better too

BlackPink hasn't even released a Korean album yet. Those are all Japan sales.

Who knows when the Korean album will ever land.

And yes, AOA has fallen a few notches back. The whole Korean history controversy didn't help, nor did the loss of Choa.

On a per album basis, the top are as follows:

Mamamoo
Lovelyz

BlackPink needs to release Korean albums before we can get a good sense for how much they can sell domestically.

So... repack is just recycled content?

It will be all of the songs from Twicestagram + most likely 2 new tracks (Heartshaker being the new Title track + at least one new non-promoted album track), in a new packaging (cover, photobook, photocard etc...)

In terms of digitals, they're not that ahead of the other girl groups. In all honesty, Red Velvet and BlackPink have been stronger digitally in some ways. Mamamoo too if you look only at Signal.

But overall, Twice is still the girl group on top.

Twice still has the most downloaded/streamed girl group song this year (Knock Knock), while Signal has more downloads and streams than Mamamo's Yes I am, and only slightly less than Rookie which was released several months before it. Likey was also charting better during its second week than Peek A Boo currently is during its second week. Also Twice has 3 of the 4 girl group songs that have gotten more than 200,000 downloads in a week this year with the only other one being Red Flavor and the only girl group song to surpass 300,000 in a week (Knock Knock).

Well I didn't say they weren't strong digitally; my point is that the top girl groups are a lot closer digitally. Red Velvet was the fastest to 1 million downloads with Red Flavor, BlackPink's AIIYL will probably chart in the top 100 the longest and Mamamoo's Yes I Am set a new record for unique listeners by a girl group.

GFriend had a down year unfortunately.

But regardless, the gap is huge between Twice and other girl groups in terms of physical sales, but it's a lot more competitive between them in terms of digitals.

Not like Twice doesn't win in every other area though. But it'll be interesting to see if they can get another hit song on the level of Cheer Up/TT

So still no Secret. Back in January TS said they were planning a comeback for this year. Only 1 month left, I have my doubts it's happening.

It won't. December is a horrible time to make a comeback. They'll get no attention at all, due to year-end ceremonies and awards season.

Haeryung didn't leave the group and recently posted on her social media to Bestie fans and support KnK.

But they're doing absolutely nothing since their comeback was delayed due to Dahye's injuries and I'm PISSED OFF.

Enough with YNB pouring all their resources into their damn boy group. GIVE BESTIE A COMEBACK.

I never really listen to kpop albums unless it's a group I really like. I tried at one point but the main track was usually the best one

While RV was never my favorite they are pretty much one of the few I have left to hold onto in K-pop. And yeah, most of the time the main tracks are the best.

I'm more of a Mamamoo fan. Or a Moomoo as they call it, god I hate fandom names in kpop. After Sistar disbanded, they're my main vocalist group now.

Hehe it's okay man I'm just teasing. IDOT finished already? That's way too short! :\ I love Moonbyul in it, she's so much fun and dare I say cute? Although I like Solar best since before I think I'm gonna end up with Byul as my bias. Yeah "Yes I Am" is more mainstream but still very much a Mamamoo song, that's what makes it good.

Well they'll be performing together again on the 14th. They'll be on Music Bank. We at least get that!

Seriously yeah Mamamoo's song is my fav since You're the Best or Mr. Ambiguous. In terms of style it's the best, they nailed it. It's not at all unexpected but it's good to see that they can do uh straight Kpop this well. I don't know why their producer decided to do this but he knows what he's doing.

I do forget about my gaming brethren sometimes. I'm so involved with the Mamamoo fandom, especially during comebacks, that everything really takes a backseat. And I mean everything.

I'd have flown to Korea again just for their comeback if not for it being a logistical nightmare in combination with other duties here at home.

But Yes I Am is definitely more of a mainstream song than what some might be used to from Mamamoo, but it still has those funky vibes to it with the amazing vocals and powerful raps. Not to mention the lyrics, which I recommend everybody looks up. Not often you get meaningful and well-written lyrics in K-Pop. Cherish what Mamamoo put together for YIA

And IDOT just ended, so I'm incredibly saddened. But it did give me MoonbyulxYooA, so I'll take it. I hope there's a wrap-up episode or two at least. Probably not.

But Mamamoo topped the charts (until Heize happened), have already won four music shows (would be five if Music Bank didn't have their half-year special) and have already sold 40,000 albums. They're on pace to sale the most copies of one album by a a non-Twice girl group this year.
